This was a wonderful food tour in two areas of the city I wanted to know more about--Chelsea and the Meatpacking District. I had been on the original Greenwich Village tour and had an idea about what to expect on this tour.
The guide, Ed, was very informative about the history of the Chelsea Market and the Meatpacking District, so he had many interesting facts to throw in as we meandered our way through the tour. The taste testing was great and offered a huge variety of foods-- cookies, lobster bisque, olives, gelato, tea...and the list goes on. DO NOT EAT before coming on this tour or you will have to turn down some pretty delicious foods. I thought the tour was not too long--just long enough--and thank goodness much of the tour (at least half) was inside the Chelsea Market, so if the weather is not the best (we had extreme heat--about 98-99 degrees outside) you can still enjoy yourself.
I would recommend doing this tour at the beginning of your New York visit so that you can return to these food establishments and shop. |

We loved this tour. I live in the city and had taken some friends to the Greenwich Village tour a few weeks ago (it was also great), and this one was just as fabulous. This is DEFINITELY worth your time. Come hungry though. We had a large breakfast and were stuffed at the end of the 11:30 tour - so many fantastic tastings, and you won't want to skip any of them due to a full stomach! I also got about 20 new ideas on places I can enjoy in Manhattan! |

Kurt was energetic, interesting and funny. The food was incredible. You certainly receive enough to eat on your tours! Have taken two tours so far and recommended both to many people. Look forward to doing the others. Just an FYI - this tour requires less walking than compared to the Greenwich Village tour, for those afraid the tours might involve too much walking; although, don't miss the great pizza on the Greenwich Village tour! The tours are a great value for the price - perfect for families, friends or as a gift. |

This was one of the best tours we had in years!! Curt was fantastic. He was so knowledgeable about the area, the foods, the people, and us. He made a point of knowing our names and he brought humor to the tour. We'll definitely go on another zerve tour...thanks to Curt. |

We enjoyed the variety of local vendors that we experienced. The samples were great and the organization of time was excellent. All vendors were expecting us and prepared. We had a great time "sampling" the food. We would have liked to be able to have more involvement with the Food Network. Also a few more minutes to shop in each store before moving on to the next one. |

This is the 2nd Foods of NY tour I have taken and plan to take the rest of the tours offered. It has opened up parts of the city I have not ventured to in the past. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable about the area and he was very funny. A great time was had by all!! Thanks for such an enjoyable day. |
