Chelsea Market/Meatpacking Dist Food Tasting Tour

The guide (Cindy) was terrific and told us lots about the area. The food was amazing from all the stops and more than we expected. I would thoroughly recommend this tour to anyone.

This tour is fantastic. I have heard about Chelsea Marketplace but never knew what it actually was about. The history of the building, the building itself, the shops - wow. We samples everything from soup to desserts. The meatpacking district is very interesting as well, seeing the transition from the meatpacking plants to the quaint shops and yummy restaurants. This is our second tour provided by FoodTours, and we are planning our third for April, 2011. Do not hesitate, you will not be disappointed!

What an absolutely fantastic way to spend an afternoon in New York!!! The Chelsea Market tour was a highlight of a fun weekend in the city. Our tour guide, Curt, was so knowledgeable and entertaining as well. He memorized all sixteen participant's names and referred to all of us by name frequently. It was a way to keep you engaged in what he was saying, as well as making you feel that he was interested in your personal enjoyment of the tour. There was so much good food to sample and enough history and background information without making you feel that it was a history lesson. We sampled a great variety of foods and we all went back to the market after the tour to shop since we were so impressed by the samples we had tasted. We are definitely planning to take the Greenwich Village tour on our next trip which we hope will become an annual event!

My friend and I really enjoyed the tour!!! Yes, I would recommend the tour. We went back to some of the stores after the tour was over and bought some things we tried. We also had a great guide and I wish I could remember his name. ( I'm not good at remembering names. ) I personally have not been back to the market in quite a few years and was taken away with all the changes. Thanks

I am planning to do a tour each time I visit NYC. Our guide was so well informed, witty, and fun. It really was a fun afternoon, and I recommend this tour for everyone!!

Don't have time to say much, but the tour was exceptional. Food was great. Cindy is a hoot. Surprise visit to the elevated park. Great insights in NYC History. Couldn't have had a more enjoyable 3 hours. Also note that WTC is right around the corner. Thus had great day with family. (son is 26 years old).

Sydney, our tour guide, was sooooooooo knowledgeable, enthusiastic and informative.. We thoroughly enjoyed our tour of the Chelsea Market. We were surprised that we learned so much about the history of the Market (the former Nabisco factory)........as well as the background of each individual business that we visited. We were so full by the time we left Buon Itialia..........what a wonderful feast we had there! The walking tour of the Meat Packing area was so very interesting. This is the way to explore NYC...walking each neighborhood with enthusiasic and knowledgeable guides. We loved walking on the Highline. What a wonderful addition to the City. Our last stop was the icing on the cake. It was an Italiian restaurant which generously shared a full plate of wonderful pasta and we were seated at a preset table. A wonderful way to end our walk together. I think we were misleaded. The website said that we would get tastings that were equivalent to a lunch, but I think..........more like a dinner. We look forward to more food tours of NYC.
