Chelsea Market/Meatpacking Dist Food Tasting Tour

I am a local, but this was a great learning experience for me and my son. Our guide was very knowledgable, entertaining and personable; the food was pretty good, too. It was a good weekend activity for visitors and locals, alike.

The guide was very friendly, funny, knowledgeable, and immediately made us feel at home. He shared so many historical facts about the area that I would have never known! The food was amazing! This tour is a MUST! You will not regret it!

This was a great tour with lots of special bites. Good if the weather is a bummer since 90% is inside.

So glad you do this. I was going to send you an email complementing our guide (and shamefully I forget his name) on the great job he did. Our tour was factual, funny, naughty and filling. Don't eat breakfast before the 10:30 tour; you'll be full by noon. Our guide was full of the history but added that extra touch of insider tidbits that make a tour special. I learned many facts about Chelsea Market and Meatpacking District that I never picked up before (I've been to that area several times). It was well worth it! I had lots of fun learning and tasting and took lots of cool pics.

Our tour guide was excellent. He was very informative, witty, and quick. We really enjoyed the tidbits to eat too. Our favorite was the fish market and lobster bisque. Only thing I'd have to say is the stop at the italian market felt cramped. We sat pushed into a corner surrounded by boxes and stuff and not enough chairs for everyone. Overall it was the highlight of our trip to NYC. We even went back to Chelsea Market later in the day for dinner and shopping.

Darryl was terrific, warm, friendly, knowledgable, and a good group leader. I thoroughly enjoyed all the stops and was pleasantly surprised at all of the samplings, quantity and especially, quality of food. I am looking forward to joining a second tour sometime in the future.

We thoroughly enjoyed our tour of the Chelsea Market and surrounding area. Our guide was knowledgeable and enthusiastic. She had a great rapport with the vendors at the market which made our tour seamless and fun. We ate cupcakes, lobster bisque, steak and Guinness pie, antipasto, pasta, fresh bread and scones with jam all the while getting a wonderful glimpse into the history of each of the businesses and of the market and surrounding district. We even got to go inside some very exclusive restaurants for a brief look ( even though they were closed as it was Sunday morning) and toured the high line rail park. We totally recommend this tour for both locals and tourists. We will be looking into other tours from this company the next time we are in the city!

We just loved the tour. Thank you for our wonderful guide Diana (rhymes with banana!). She was amazing and we learnt so much about the markets and meat packing area and got to taste a wide variety of food. She was informative, helpful, organised and kept the tour moving !.
