Our family had a great time on the tour. Our guide Kurt was awesome ! He really made it a lot of fun. We have 2 kids ages 14 and 11 and Kurt made it a point to include them also which was really nice. The food was amazing. And Kurt's interesting stories and quick wit made it well worth the time and money!! We went back to Chelsea Market later in our trip and re-visited our favorites. |

Bob our guide for the day met us in Chelsea market and introduced us to the delights of the area whilst recounting the fascinating history of the "gastrofication" (sorry my made up word) of the District. From red velvet muffins to scallop and bacon chowder we were entertained and our taste buds tantalised. After leaving the amazing Chelsea market we proceeded up top via one or two top NY restaurants to the Hi- Line refurbishment, another example of what NY idealism and philanthropy can achieve. We strolled through the meat packing area which still retains many of the original features of the warehouses and finished our trip with a delicious Italian lunch at the appropriately named "Butchers" restaurant. All in all a fabulous tour, with an outstanding guide whose enthusiasm for food, history and architecture in equal portions was both filling and satisfying. He has definitely wetted our appetites for another food tour when we next make it back to NY.

We enjoyed all of the food tastings. This tour was more food and less walking than the previous tour we did in Greenwich Village, but equally enjoyable. |

If you want to get an idea of how something old can be made useful in the 21st century, this is the tour to take. Make sure to plan your day so that you can return to the Market and go through the shops again, but also take a walk on the High Line. Fabulous. |

Kurt - our tour guide provided a very informative, enjoyable and entertaining tour of the Chelsea Marketplace and Meatpacking District. It was fun to hear the history of the area and to see how this area has transformed into the destination it has become. I would recommend this tour to anyone! We all had a good time and the food sampling was very enjoyable, but the history made it memorable. I will try other tours the next time I visit NY. |
