Kurt - our tour guide provided a very informative, enjoyable and entertaining tour of the Chelsea Marketplace and Meatpacking District. It was fun to hear the history of the area and to see how this area has transformed into the destination it has become. I would recommend this tour to anyone! We all had a good time and the food sampling was very enjoyable, but the history made it memorable. I will try other tours the next time I visit NY.

Above & Beyond!

This was our second food tour and although our first tour back in August was fantastic, this one was above and beyond our expectations ! Kurt, our tour guide, was a bundle of energy and managed to remember everyone's names of the entire group. The mystery of wondering where to eat while in NYC was no longer an issue and we were able to visit restaurants that we had learned about on the previous visit. We highly recommend the tour and Kurt as a guide! Enjoy!

Some of the best dishes I've tasted

I can still taste the food I had at this tour. You had almost everything, I believe. The soup - I had the lobster bisque and it could possibly be the best I've had. My wife had the Clam Chowder and it was good too. We had cheese and bacon and "speck(?)". We had delicious chocolate milk from Ronnybrook. We had jam of raspberries. We had pasta. But, for me, the best dish I had was Eleni's Red Velvet Cupcake. Hands down - the best cupcake I've had (and I'm not even a cupcake person), and better than Magnolia Bakery. While you're eating and trying out all these dishes, you have the history of the Chelsea Market and its facade and decor around you - the busy comings and goings of people. I saw all sorts of food on display - giant lobsters, weird-looking pasta. We also got to see the people working behind the counters - the bakeries and kitchens - and all preparing the food for the people of NY. What a great atmosphere. Then we were led out to the Highline. THAT was something else. You had a great views of the Hudson and also a view of Chelsea from the outside. Then we strolled around the Meatpacking District and we got to know some facts about the area. I just wish that the pasta wasn't the last dish I had before we ended the tour. Honestly, the pasta was so-so. It would have been better if the last dish they served was at Eleni's (the cupcake is actually the first dish served at the tour, so some may find it weird to have dessert before delving into soups). But whatever the order/sequence, you end the tour full. The guide handed out coupons (promos and discounts). So you definitely get your money's worth. Oh, and maybe the guide should also carry some sanitary wipes or alcohol for the tourists? My strong recommendation though is the tour company to invest in headphones and audio guides. I've done the Savor Seattle food tour and they have those audio guides and earphones which make it easier for the participants to hear the tourguide - especially since the Chelsea area is noisy and chaotic. Thanks.

Nice, but no tour needed/a bit strange for Europea

While I donīt regret having taking the tour, as an independent European traveler, you may not want/need to take it. Most of the food tasting takes place in Chelsea market, which you can easily do on your own. 2 of the 6 stops are Italian, which you get of course much better in Europe. Strange to touch a glass bottle (as advised by the tour guide), since we have so many glass bottles over there. Also strange to be marveling at real, hormone-free milk, where we have such a bio variety. A third of the timeīs tour is devoted to strolling along the highline, which of course is great. But I had just done that myself (no tourguide needed), so it bothered me a bit. Of course it is nice that they pick out especially good restaurants, but also you have to know they fill you up strategically with stuff you wouldnīt eat in that order (starting with desert) and cheap fillers (bread). The guide herself was funny, witty and nice, so as I said, no regrets

I loved this tour. I was in New York with a group and we enjoyed every minute. The tour was informative and a lot of fun. Everything we tasted was divine. This was the best bang for your buck in New York City. I was not hungry until after the play that evening. This was great since we had 10:45 pm dinner reservations. Our tour guide was soooooo very entertaining. He was AWESOME!

We thoroughly enjoyed the 3 hour walking tour-time flew--the food was plentiful and the items were well chosen. We come to NY twice a year--but have never been to this area...so it was a great opportunity to learn about another part of the city. Cindy, our guide, was outstanding. The group was small enough for all to hear--. Highly recommend the tour if you love food...want a little history...and want to experience NY!
