The tour guide was warm and welcoming. He knew so much about the market and local restaurants. Not your average market. You will be pleasantly surprised.. And well fed!

Great Tour Leader; Fun Event

I have been on two tours previously and enjoyed them all. This one was, perhaps, of less interest, both in the area of the city and the tastings involved. Oddly enough, the tasting began with a cupcake - admittedly very good - and ended with a pasta tasting. The opposite order may have made more sense. In general, the tastings were fewer in number (it seems to me) and less interesting. The addition of visiting the high line park was a bonus. All of the tours were a good value, and the guides were knowledgeable and pleasant. All in all, I would book another tour with this company when in the area.

Darryl Blacburn, the guide, was great...had a comprehensive knowledge of the area, was very entertaining and engaging and paced the tour well. The food samples and visits to the shops were also well managed in the sense that there was opportunity in some restaurants to sit down and sample the food, which meant there was a break from standing/walking all the time.

Loved this tour, what an amazing guide Kurt was. Firstly he remembered everyone's names, impressive with a group of 16 .He was polite, witty , thoughtful and funny throughout the tour. He answered all questions, it was was his humour I will most remember and kept everyones interest. Time flew by, loved all the food we tried on the tour. Bought some pasta from one of the stores and it was delicious. 10 out of 10 for this tour. Try to get Kurt as your guide , he is such a positive person he will make yr day !

Funny and knowledgable guide and delish samples

My only reason for not rating this tour 5 stars is that there were too many sweet samples (cup cakes, scones etc). I would have preferred more "food" samples.

Historical food tour of meat packing district

For my birthday I treated myself to a local food walking tour of the chelsea/meat-packing district. I was expecting a lot of meat (meat-packing tour), so my kosher jewish friend did not join me. She should have and she would have had so much fun with me! It was an awesome tour, given by a woman who not only knew facts about the food we were eating (a lot of desserts) but also really fun and intersting facts about the area - what it was like in the past, and how it functions today. The end of the tour ended at a great Italian restaurant, where our group sat in the back at a communal table and had a great home-made pasta dish. I can't wait to try out another one of their tours in a different neighborhood!
