REAL Chinese food, presented well
Mon, Mar 18  12:00 PM ZuZuLou Female 60-69 Domestic Tourist(s) Couple on a Date
I've never been fond of Chinese food but that's because I hadn't tasted REAL Chinese food. On this tour, I enjoyed each taste--or dish-let--at each stop we made. Our guide, Raheem, was friendly, extremely knowledgeable, and conducted the tour even in the bitter, windy, cold. We all went away quite happy!

Great Chinatown experience

Nobody could fail to be satisfied with the superb quality, quantity and variety of food and liquid sustenance on offer on this tour, which I took at the end of May 2011, on my last day in the city at the end of a short break. The guide was extremely knowledgeable and brought the whole experience to life, with information on the history of Chinese settlement in New York, the development of Chinatown to what it is today and his own personal experiences of the area. He pointed out various venues to explore after the tour - from bars to restaurants to shops - in addition to those we actually enjoyed along the way. I have made careful note of the places we visited and the menu recommendations for my next visit and have no hesitation in recommending the tour most highly to future visitors. Also represents great value for money.

Got to see the real China town

Had a great time. Was really nice to see the real china town aside from just canal street. Learning the history was very nice as well. Our guide (Raheem) was friendly and included everyone in the activity, even me, being a single participant. Excellent tour that I would HIGHLY recommend to anyone.

Fun Afternoon

Our tour guide, Bert, is the reason my friend and I had so much fun on this tour. He was a wonderful host. There are not as many stops on this particular tour, but there is a lot of food. My 2 favorites were the dim sum and the Peking duck stops. The rice and eggplant were ok, but not the best and the tea stop was just not good at all, but then I don't like sweetened tea and this tea was sweetened. My friend liked the tea stop, so it's just a matter of sweet vs. nonsweet tea. The shopping stop was ok if you're into tea pots, cups and herbs, otherwise it was a waste of time. The cat was nice though. I had fun and did learn a lot of the history of Chinatown which I had never learned before. This was my 5th Foods of New York tour and while it's not the first tour I would recommend to my friends, I'm glad I went on it.

Good time in Chinatown

We went on the Chinatown walking/eating with Raheem. The food was fantastic, and our guide provided us with lots of information about what we were eating as well as an interesting overview of Chinatown. He was obviously well-informed and excited about his topic as well as friendly and pleasant. We had a great time; this is our second tour, and we will definitely do another tour the next time we are in NYC.
