Great Chinatown experience

Nobody could fail to be satisfied with the superb quality, quantity and variety of food and liquid sustenance on offer on this tour, which I took at the end of May 2011, on my last day in the city at the end of a short break. The guide was extremely knowledgeable and brought the whole experience to life, with information on the history of Chinese settlement in New York, the development of Chinatown to what it is today and his own personal experiences of the area. He pointed out various venues to explore after the tour - from bars to restaurants to shops - in addition to those we actually enjoyed along the way. I have made careful note of the places we visited and the menu recommendations for my next visit and have no hesitation in recommending the tour most highly to future visitors. Also represents great value for money.

I really like the experience, actually I would love to have more walking. Dont get me wrong, more walking to burn calories as fast as possible. Really, the food was very, very good, portions satisfying and restaurant selections were really nice. I particulary enjoy the Pecking Duck House @ 28 Mott St. And the final dessert a "Tiger' something roll, was splendid!

This is my 4th tour with Food of NY - I think they are a fantastic way to experience the different neighbourhoods away from the "usual" tourist scene. Rahim was excellent (and Bert too!), and the food tastings were great. My 16 year old cousin had a fantastic time with the group so it can be a suitable outing for teenagers as well. We ended up going back to one of the restaurants with the rest of our group a couple of days later - excellent ideas for places to eat.

A great first trip to New York!

I brought a friend who is nineteen years old on this tour. It was her first trip into New York, she was visiting from Copenhagen. I set up a day trip that began with this food tour of Chinatown. I had been on another one of these food tours so I knew she would enjoy it. This Chinatown tour was slightly more expensive than the previous food tour I did of Greenwich Village but we received more food with this tour. Both of us enjoyed it tremendously. This is a wonderful way to see parts of New York. Thank you for a great job!

I did the Chinatown tour in January. If you love chinese food or you want to know more about it, you have to book it. I had the best Peking Duck ever. The guide knows a lot about food and cooking in general, is very friendly and can't stop talking about it. Another good thing is that afterwards you know to which places you have to come back for lunch or dinner.

This was our 3rd culinary walking tour with Food Tours, and they never disappoint. Chinatown is an exotic and fascinating NY neighborhood with a rich history and outstanding food. You really need inside knowledge to get a true sense of what the neighborhood has to offer. This tour was fun and informative. Not to mention the tastings....AMAZING! Food Tours always finds the best of the best, and in Chinatown there is a lot to chose from. There are probably hundreds of places to get Dim Sum and Peking duck, but I think we were introduced to the best! This tour is NOT TO BE MISSED!

Enjoying NYC's China Town's Cuisine and Scenerery

My wife and I had a fantastic time on our China Town Tour. We had three wonderful dining experiences tasting gourmet Chineese cuisine ranging from Peking Duck, to Dim SUM to a delicious and unique eggplant dish. We had an extremely knowledgeable, courteous and helpful tour guide, Rahim, who enhanced our experience by showing the group NYC's best shops and eateries in China Town. We had a good mix of people on our tour group including a family with children, couples and singles. Some were locals, some were from other areas of the U.S. and some made the trip from other parts of the globe. The group was not too big or small and no one got separated. My wife and I have many fond memories of this day trip and look forward to attending another NYC food tour in the future. Michael and Elena Nussbaum
