Chinatown Food and Culture Walking Tour

This tour was a gourmet sensation. I loved Dim Sum Go Go so much that I took a group of friends back to dine there a couple of days later and I was quite the culinary expert as a result of the tour. They are raving about it and now our NY friends are taking their friends to dine there. My husband says it was our best meal in the 16 days we spent in NY. So it's great for the local businesses. The Peking Duck was to die for and I really enjoyed hearing about the history of the area and visiting the health shop and tea shop. I've done the Greenwich Village tour twice so I was hoping this one lived up to expectations - and it exceeded them. Our guide was lovely too. Definitely a must do when you're in NY.

This is my fourth Foods of New York tour, and Raheem (our tour guide) is an enthusiastic and knowledgeable member of their team. His facts and figures about Chinatown were wide-ranging, and the foods we tasted with him were outstanding. I'm reasonably sure I wouldn't have found these places myself, and as I travel alone it would have been difficult to try so many different foods. I waddled away from this tour happy. Thanks Raheem and Foods of New York. I'm signing up for the Sushi experience the next time I'm in town.

Chinatown has such an interesting history, and Raheem, our tour guide, was able to give us a definite flavor to the neightborhood. It is also really nice to taste all the different flavors, and to be able to learn how to distinguish fine cuisine!

In my opinion the tour had a good mix of facts, history, stories and food.

Unlike some of the other tours, there was a lot of "sit-down" time to enjoy the food. As usual, Raheem knew the culture of the neighborhood and enthusiastically shared his knowledge. I have taken four of your tours and have interest in one or two others but I hope they add more options. Afterall, NYC is a big place!

I really enjoyed this tour. It has a nice combo of sitdown and standup eating experiences. The tour guide is great, too. I think you get your money's worth just in food.

Although I have been to New York many times, this tour took me to a fascinating part of town that I had never seen. The tour guide was enthusiastic and well-informed, and I felt that I learned a lot about Chinese food and Chinese culture as well as the history of the area. I felt very comfortable being on the tour by myself. I would highly recommend the tour, and I plan to take some of the other tours when I am there next.

This is my 4th walking tour of NY thru Foods Of New York. And it was the best. Lots of good walking, delicious foods, we learned not only about Chinatown in NY, but also about Chinese culture. The guide, Rahim, was kind and patient and acted like we were the only people in the world. He was just great. I highly recommend this tour. And the food, by the way, was delicious and quite filling!

If you like chinese food, its a great tour!! Great dim sum and peking duck and lots of other places to visit and explore!Also interesting area to visit [bring a camera], one you might not be inclined to do alone...
