We have taken several other trips with Foods of NY and they have all been wonderful but this one with Bert was just delightful. He had many educational additions as well as helpful tips which were presented in a professional and humorous manner. The restaurants and areas we visited were located in parts of Chinatown that are not on the usual beaten path. Can't wait to go back to eat and visit the shops again.. We also happened to run into Bert in Greenwich Village the next day while we were browsing around and he gave us a few hints for that area as well. We will have to do that trip for the next visit!! |

We absolutely love your food tasting tours. We have taken each and every one of them and wish there were more. Bert was our guide and we give him six stars. He was very informed, attentive and funny. It is truly one of the best values in NYC, |

Some of us were locals. Some of us were from out of state. ALL really enjoyed this tour. Bert has extensive knowledge of the area and we loved all of his neighborhood vignettes. The food sampling was perfect. Yes, there was lots of food and the variety was impressive - and definitely keep in mind to 'come hungry'. We also greatly appreciated the map hand out and suggestions for future places that might also be yummy and fun. I recommend it enthusiastically. |

Started off with steamed and fried dumplings.
Then we had peking duck.
Next we moved on to an eggplant dish and fried rice.
We ended with a yummy custard tart.
I really enjoyed the trip. My favorite was the dumpling but everything was good.
I really enjoyed the guide explaining to us all about the food. I never eat Chinese food because I usually can't find any good restaurants but obviously that's not a problem in Chinatown.
Only negative thing I can mention is that the recommendation guide we received seems to be a bit out-dated.
We went to one of the restaurants listed on the guide and virtually nothing recommended on the guide was actually on the menu at the restaurant. Makes you wonder how often they update the thing.
Overall a great experience and next time I am in NYC I will go to more of these food tours. |

Can't recommend this tour enough, Burt our tour guide was awesome, he really put the cherry on top of the sundae. I wanted to visit Chinatown but know I wouldn't have gotten anything out of it if I hadn't gone on this tour. I was able to sample tons of different foods and got a brief historical/clutural briefing which heightened the experience of sampling the food. Plus our tour guide ate regularly at each of the establishments we went, you could see his excitement & joy over the food we were tasting and the neighborhood we were visiting. The food was great, with lots of variety, and perfect portions so that you could enjoy the whole tour. I will definetley go on another tour with this copy in the future. |

Can't say enough good things about this experience...
Tour guide (Bert) was super personable & funny. Told us so many interesting things about the neighborhood & the food.
Fantastic food. Definitely wasn't hungry at the end of the day. The peking duck was my favorite part.
The pace was perfect. Didn't feel rushed, but also didn't get bored.
Group size was nice. Small but not awkwardly small. Felt comfortable around everyone. |

Had a great time on this tour. Our guide was friendly, knowledgeable, and funny. As a local, learned so much about a neighborhood I thought I already knew. The food was delicious and our guide gave us lots of tips on other places to try in the future for different specialties to make further culinary exploration easier and more accessible. Will definitely be taking another tour soon and hope to have Brett as my guide again! |
