Excellent tour. Raheem personable and knowledgable about area, culture and of course food. Good pace to the tour. Kept us moving but not too fast. Excellent that restaurants were expecting us so food was ready for serving and not too long a wait at any one restaurant. Would highly recommend. |

Despite having visited Chinatown on my own too many times to count, and having done two other Chinatown food tours, this tour took me to areas of Chinatown I had never visited! The guide, Bert, was enthusiastic, funny, and incredibly knowledgeable about what we were eating, how it was prepared, and what made it the best! He also told us alot about the history of the area, including many new facts I had not previously heard. Having had Peking duck in Beijing some years ago, I must say the Peking duck we had on the tour was outstanding! I highly recommend this tour, my group loved it. |

I took this tour as a birthday gift for my husband. It was excellent! Tour guide (Bert) was knowledgeable, friendly, and upbeat! You can tell he enjoyed his job as he kept his enthusiasm, recommendations, and tips going throughout the tour. Food was also heavenly! Many different tastes that have left us wanting more! |

The tour was really great. As a local who lives uptown, Chinatown always intimidated me a bit. This was a great way to learn some history, try new restaurants, and spend time with my out of town friend. I will definitely be returning to Peking Duck House. Burt, the guide, was enthusiastic, funny, and a wealth of knowledge about the area. I definitely recommend this tour! |

Our guide was Bert. He was excellent!!! We want to come back later in the year and do the Greenwich Village tour and we will be asking for Bert! The tour & restaurants were excellent as well but ultimately, you have to have a good guide to keep things interesting & have knowledge to be able to offer historical information. Not just any history, but interesting history. |

The Chinatown tour was wonderful. Burt was our tour guide and was a wealth of information and clearly enjoys his job. We had fantastic Peking duck at one of the hottest restaurants in Chinatown that will be remembered for years to come. Burt is very knowledgeable of the history of the area and the culture. Burt had many interesting stories to tell us of Chinatown in addition to the food we were served. All three restaurants that we ate in are highly rated and are widely recognized as in the top tier. We also visited several local stores selling a
wide variety of different merchandise. I would recommend this tour to anyone that enjoys food and history.

Plan this tour for the start of your New York Trip

This was our second food tour with Food of New York Tours and it was just as enjoyable (and tasty) as the first! My wife and I plan on having this be one of our new traditions from this point forward as they do such a great job for foodies who want a bit of history and entertainment with their tastings.
First though let me stress that you should book this tour at the beginning of your trip. While you do get a few amazing sit down tastings you will be pointed towards a slew of other restaurants that you will want to try and the ones you do visit you will likely want to return to at least one on the trip. We made the mistake of planning this tour on our last day and much to our stomachs' and taste buds' regrets we did not have more time to explore the area after the tour was completed.
The tour itself consists of three sit down tastings and concludes with a tea tasting at the very end. As you walk from one location to the next you are told of the area's rich history and how greatly the area has changed overtime.
At each of the restaurants you are told in detail of what you are about to eat, how it is prepared, and any number of fun little facts about how the cuisine itself evolved.
The tour started at the Dim Sum Go Go Restaurant who I am sad to say has ruined me. I grew up with home made pork buns that one of my best friends' mothers used to make and sadly these blew them away in flavor and I don't have the heart to tell her now. They have a variety of Dim Sum for you to try with different sauces that match them perfectly.
Moving on we next headed over to Peking Duck House Restaurant where we, you guessed it, shared a Peking Duck between the group. It is hands down one of, if not the best Peking Duck I have had in my life. Not only was each bite perfect but we learned a lot about the history of how the Duck is cooked and how much work goes into it.
Our last sit down was at ABC Cantonese Restaurant where we enjoyed their signature fried rice and a Cantonese eggplant dish which went perfectly together.
Our tour ended at the Ten Ren Tea House which was perfect on the brisk day that we had been walking all over Chinatown in New York.
As always a fun tour, a fun guide, and a fun tasting of New York. |

We really loved this tour, as our guide provided a lot of information in a charming and fun way. On top of that, the food was amazing and very authentic. We also very much appreciated the leaflet with addresses to further restaurants and directly made use of a recommendation our guide made a few days after the tour which did not disappoint us. We can therefore only recommend this tour further to others. |
