Wonderful Food and Insight into Chinatown

A wonderful combination of getting to know Chinese kitchen, including and beyond the classics, and a walk through Chinatown, which has encouraged us to venture back on our own during our next visit to the big apple.

I probably would never have taken this tour if it had not been recommended by a couple who were on another tour that we took. I'm so glad we did! The food was amazing and Raheem was engaging and fun. I highly recommend this tour!

I loved the Food Tour of Greenwich Village and thought this would be as good. It's OK, interesting, not a waste of time or money, but no where near as good as Greenwich Village. Not enough variety. How about tasting different teas or trying some exotic fruit at one of the street vendors?

Best Food Tours!

My family and I have been on 3 of the food tours now and they are amazing! The food is incredible, but my favorite part is how knowledgable the guides are. Not only do they know details about the food but they always provide historical facts about the neighborhood you are in and about the cuisine. Its the highlight of the trip when my parents come to visit! Definitely recommend it!

Our tour was relaxing and very informative about the Chinese food and culture. I did not know what Peking Duck was and what a treat it was to taste it. We would do it again. Thanks

Best Value In The City - Foods of New York Tours

We took the FNYTours Chinatown Tour on Saturday April 23rd, 2011. We had previously taken their tour of Greenwich Village (with their star guide, Kurt Upton) during Easter Weekend 2010. The Greenwich experience together with Kurt's brilliant guideship - is what brought us back - and based on another superb performance by Rahim (Chinatown) we know we will return again. FNYTours has provided us with the very best in service, hospitality, quality and behind-the-scenes education - far beyond anything that we could have acquired on our own. We thoroughly enjoyed every single aspect of the Tour - and will continue to recommend, without reservations of any kind, these Tours to family, friends and associates. We took the Greenwich Village Tour in classic, blue-sky, Spring weather. We took the Chinatown Tour in cool, breezy, over-cast, rainy weather. And - our experience dovetailed with the advice of the legendary travel writer, Paul Theroux, who wrote : "Only a fool blames his bad vacation on the rain" - meaning - weather does not erode, in any way, the professional care with which FNYTours conducts their business. Both of our guide's infectuous enthusiasm for their City made our experience most memorable. We already are planning for a return Tour.

Great guide & great food.

This was our second tour with Foods of New York. The weather was really hot so this particular tour, with its sit-down format, was ideal - it enabled us to escape the sweltering heat and get to chat with other folks in the group. The guide was informal but informative. We learnt a lot about the neighbourhood, its history and the cuisine. Throughout the guide was attentive to the needs of the group. We really liked the sauces & dim sum that started the tour - the one with Chinese chives was our favourite. The food on the rest of the tour was good - and the visits to the tea shops were interesting. We returned to China Town later in the week and explored more of the area. If we come to to NYC again we'd repeat the same tour - thank you!

8 of us signed up for this tour after having taken several of the other "Foods of NY" tours. While the tours in general are excellent, this one was outstanding and memorable. The three sit down food experiences were each unique and of the highest quality and service. Our tour guide, Bert, gave us the inside scoop on the preparation of the foods, the historical and cultural aspects of the regional cuisine of China, and the unique and little known secrets of NY Chinatown. Highly recommended.
