We booked this tour while we were having so much fun on the East Village/Soho tour a couple of days before. This was excellent as well! It was a real, and FUN, educational experience. :) |

This is my 3rd tour with this company and each one is better than the last one.
The Chinatown Food Tour was a little different as it included 3 sit down courses, in addition to stopping at a few food spots, and of course the walking with all the history of the area. I especially liked the sit down part of the tour because we got to talk with the other people, who came from all over the world, in a comforatble and relaxed atmosphere.
I highly recommend this tour to everyone! |

did this tour with friends and had a great time, we learned alot about the neighborhood, the history of the immigrants and the food culture. Our guides were fun, enthusiastic and extremely knowledgeable. The food was eceptional and there was plenty of it. After the tour we went on our own and explored the area on our own. I would definately reccommend the tour of Chinatown. |

Our very knowledgeable, friendly, and pleasant guide escorted us to several high quality establishments in Chinatown, all the while explaining the history and culture of the area. The restaurants that we visited provided outstanding quality food, dim-sum, Peking Duck, and other ethnic menu items. It appeared that our guide had personally eaten at these restaurants and that they were selected for our visit because of the quality of the food and attentiveness of the staff. We had ample food to eat and drink, including dessert, and it was doubtful that anyone on the walking tour went away hungry or unsatisfied. We loved it and highly recommend this tour to anyone who wishes to learn more about Chinese culture in NYC and Chinese food in particular. As an aside, the recommended parking facility (Champion Parking) which was just a block or two from the meeting place, had an early bird special on Saturday before 10:30am and we parked all day until 5pm for $17.00 which included tax. A great day all around! |

Raheem was excellent. A thorough job of covering history of the area. The best tour I have taken in a long time. I have traveled to China many times, and this tour was amazing to tie old and new country together. Very talented tour guide. Was able to adjust as needed when restaurants weren't ready or crowds were a problem, with sensititvity to the locals as well as awareness of his group. |

AS it says above, this was my 7th Foods of NY tour... the first for the Chinatown tour. It did not disappoint at all.
It is different from the others in that there is less history and more food time, and the food for the most part is sit-down and service... it was explained, and makes sense, that this is what is the best for this part of NY.
The food was fabulous from start to finish, and quite a lot. And again, it had us trying restaurants that we most probably would not have done on our own.
There is history and explanation of the area, and that was informative and very interesting.
We had Rajim as our tour guide, and he has a wonderful way to give the background and facts while always being entertaining and easy to follow.
We highly recommend this tour, as well as all of the Foods of NY tours... |
