Hot time in Chinatown

Our tour happened during the heat wave so we were glad that we were mostly inside in the air conditioned restaurants! Our guide Burt was great! He was funny, informative, courteous, and kept us in the shade as much as possible when we were outside. I learned a lot about the area and I know we'll be going back. Especially to a "concealed" bar that he showed us. The food was delicious and I can't even begin to pick a favorite from what we ate. This was our third food tour (previous tours were Greenwich Village and Chelsea Market) and I would rate this one possibly the highest of all so far. As luck would have it, we were only five on the tour so it was "cozy" and very nice.

Not only did we have delicious food but very interesting learning about the culture. Our guide Raheem was superb! I was traveling with my 17 yr. old granddaughter and she enjoyed the day as much as I did. If I would have had more time, I would have booked one of the other tours as well. Highly recommended!

Fabulous tour guides! One was training but you would never know it. Great intro to Chinatown and a peak into the history of the city I never knew. Highly recommend! Honestly, it was one of the highlights from my trip to New York. :)

did this tour with friends and had a great time, we learned alot about the neighborhood, the history of the immigrants and the food culture. Our guides were fun, enthusiastic and extremely knowledgeable. The food was eceptional and there was plenty of it. After the tour we went on our own and explored the area on our own. I would definately reccommend the tour of Chinatown.

Our tour with Raheem was one of the highlights of our trip. This was our fourth tour with this company, and I think they are best food tour ever. We learned so much about the Chinatown history and area in addtion to tasting some really delicious food. We loved the Peking Duck and the Tiger Roll. Highly recommended.

7th Foods of NY tour... can't wait for the next

AS it says above, this was my 7th Foods of NY tour... the first for the Chinatown tour. It did not disappoint at all. It is different from the others in that there is less history and more food time, and the food for the most part is sit-down and service... it was explained, and makes sense, that this is what is the best for this part of NY. The food was fabulous from start to finish, and quite a lot. And again, it had us trying restaurants that we most probably would not have done on our own. There is history and explanation of the area, and that was informative and very interesting. We had Rajim as our tour guide, and he has a wonderful way to give the background and facts while always being entertaining and easy to follow. We highly recommend this tour, as well as all of the Foods of NY tours...

Best Value In The City - Foods of New York Tours

We took the FNYTours Chinatown Tour on Saturday April 23rd, 2011. We had previously taken their tour of Greenwich Village (with their star guide, Kurt Upton) during Easter Weekend 2010. The Greenwich experience together with Kurt's brilliant guideship - is what brought us back - and based on another superb performance by Rahim (Chinatown) we know we will return again. FNYTours has provided us with the very best in service, hospitality, quality and behind-the-scenes education - far beyond anything that we could have acquired on our own. We thoroughly enjoyed every single aspect of the Tour - and will continue to recommend, without reservations of any kind, these Tours to family, friends and associates. We took the Greenwich Village Tour in classic, blue-sky, Spring weather. We took the Chinatown Tour in cool, breezy, over-cast, rainy weather. And - our experience dovetailed with the advice of the legendary travel writer, Paul Theroux, who wrote : "Only a fool blames his bad vacation on the rain" - meaning - weather does not erode, in any way, the professional care with which FNYTours conducts their business. Both of our guide's infectuous enthusiasm for their City made our experience most memorable. We already are planning for a return Tour.

Great guides with lots of interesting historical and cultural information. The foods offered are very tasty and representative of high quality Chinese foods unlike what most of us are accustomed to. Being in this part of Manhattan feels like being in Asia. You'll visit extremely interesting produce,tea,herbal-type shops with lots of' samples along the way. This experience will become a highlight of your Manhattan visit.
