Too Much Meat!

The places we went to were nice, clean and friendly. Our guide was very enthusiastic! Rahsheem needs to stop saying, "Ladies and Gentlemen!" It got annoying. Our group felt there needed to have more of a variety of food. This tour DOES NOT compare to the Greenwich or Meat Market! I don't think I would recommend this one unless there is a change. This was my 5th tour and the experience was OK:(

We really enjoyed this tour - it starts off with 5 delicious dumplings at Dim Sum GoGo, and follows with *real* Peking duck. These two sit-down tastings were the highlight of the tour! Delicious! While I liked the following tastings, especially the plum iced tea, I'd get rid of the beef jerky (weird, wet, couldn't finish it) ,the Chinese BBQ (too much meat at that point, would rather have had the scallion pancake to mix things up). I'd also go back to the egg custard tarts, rather than the tiger roll (OK, but nothing special). Our tour guide Raheem was a delight! Afterwards, be sure to go by Chinatown Ice Cream Factory for some almond cookie ice cream! :)

We were enthusiastically greeted by our guide and began our Chinatown adventure with a sit down tasting at a local restaurant. The explanations that went along with our tastings were very informative. There were detailed explanations given on the preparations that went into the food. We walked around Chinatown and had a real feel for the area. We would highly recommend this tour. This was our first but we look forward to others in the future.

Chinatown Walking Tour - Terrific Tour

I have been to Chinatown many times and it is not all about pocketbooks! Our group instructor Rahib showed us the different foods, how to eat them and where to go for the best inexpensive foods. He also showed us where to go for gifts and herbal medicine. Rahib was very informative on the history of China/Chinatown and there customs. I loved this cultural tour and highly recommend it.

This was a walking-eating tour. The food was delcious and the tour interesting. We covered a good bit of China town with Raheeb stopping at all of the historical points of interest. There was enough walking between samplings but not so much as to be tired. We will definitely take this tour again and we highly recommend it.

Don't miss this tour of Chinatown

The 3 hour walking/eating tour of Chinatown was so well-organized and so much fun. We learned a lot about the history of the area and the different establishments along the way, all while sampling delicious foods of many varieties at several stops. Our guide, Raheem, was enthusiastic and informative. You can walk around Chinatown on your own and have fun, but going on this tour makes it much more fun and interesting. I wouldn't have known where to go inside and eat, but Raheem knew the best places. Great tour!!!

Chinatown, Chelsea, Soho/Greenwich at a glance

I have had the pleasure of touring with Food Tours of NY three times, all of which have far exceeded expectation. It is a small group, only 14 - 16 people. The guides are vibrant and enthusiastic and it feels like you've got a close friend or relative who's an insider, guiding you around their favorite jaunts. Lots of great information, even maps and summaries, including places that are in the area, but not necessarily on the tour. I've saved all of my 'insider' booklets from these tours and shared them with friends and re-used them on return visits. In my opinion, this is one of the best ways to get to know an area of the City.

Great Tour

The tour was a balanced mix of food tasting and sightseeing. Since some of the tastings were in establishments, it was an opportunity to relax, be waited on and be able to get off your feet for a bit during the three hour tour. The tour guide was well informed, and very personable.
