Fabulous experience

I took my 15 year old son on this tour and we both loved it. Our tour guide was knowledgable and enthusiastic. We ended up skipping our planned activity for the next day and going back and retracing our steps, eating in our favorite places. Would highly recommend this tour group and will do another tour with them next time in the city.

Another fantastic Foods of New York tour.

This is my 4th tour with Food of NY - I think they are a fantastic way to experience the different neighbourhoods away from the "usual" tourist scene. Rahim was excellent (and Bert too!), and the food tastings were great. My 16 year old cousin had a fantastic time with the group so it can be a suitable outing for teenagers as well. We ended up going back to one of the restaurants with the rest of our group a couple of days later - excellent ideas for places to eat.

Best Value In The City - Foods of New York Tours

We took the FNYTours Chinatown Tour on Saturday April 23rd, 2011. We had previously taken their tour of Greenwich Village (with their star guide, Kurt Upton) during Easter Weekend 2010. The Greenwich experience together with Kurt's brilliant guideship - is what brought us back - and based on another superb performance by Rahim (Chinatown) we know we will return again. FNYTours has provided us with the very best in service, hospitality, quality and behind-the-scenes education - far beyond anything that we could have acquired on our own. We thoroughly enjoyed every single aspect of the Tour - and will continue to recommend, without reservations of any kind, these Tours to family, friends and associates. We took the Greenwich Village Tour in classic, blue-sky, Spring weather. We took the Chinatown Tour in cool, breezy, over-cast, rainy weather. And - our experience dovetailed with the advice of the legendary travel writer, Paul Theroux, who wrote : "Only a fool blames his bad vacation on the rain" - meaning - weather does not erode, in any way, the professional care with which FNYTours conducts their business. Both of our guide's infectuous enthusiasm for their City made our experience most memorable. We already are planning for a return Tour.

Tasty Treasure for Three Generations

I recently visted NYC with my 79 yr old mother and 24 yr old daughter and thoroughly enjoyed the Chinatown Food and Culture Walking Tour. Our guide, Raheem, was extremely knowledgeable of this unique neighborhood, its rich history, and its wonderful food. He made a good tour GREAT with his enthusiasm, humor, and friendly manner. This was my second NYC food and culture tour, (my first was the Chesea Market Tour) but my mother and daughter had never experienced one before. The food was delectable and the teas delicious. The Peking Duck was the best I have ever eaten! Choosing an outing for three generations of women can be daunting, but the Chinatown Food and Culture Tour was truly a treasure!

Great Food, Great Information, Great Guides

This is a really great tour to do with others who are interested in the history and culture behind the food. This is not something I would recommend to do with children under the age of 15 or for picky eaters. The selection of food that the guides pick out for you are great and you eat enough overall to fill you up, but not so much that you feel sick after. This is also a great way to try out several restaurants knowing that you will be eating delicious food as opposed to spending roughly the same amount at a very expensive restaurant without the guarantee of high quality food. This is a great experience that everyone should try.

Great experience for native NYer's and visitors
Mon, Nov 8, 10   12:00 PM caroltweedy Female 60-69 Local Family With Children
Our group was a mix of native New Yorkers and visiting family. We had an infant with us which was not a problem. We all thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. I have always have been hesitant about touring and eating in Chinatown because I did not know where to go. The tour led us to the best places. The food was excellent. Even though it was cold and rainy we enjoyed the walk through the streets being told the history. The group size was comfortable and the guide engaging. I am now more comfortable with Chinatown and look forward to taking the other tours.

Made Chinatown comfortable for New York family
Mon, Aug 23, 10   12:00 PM jrjacobs1 Male 40-49 Local Family With Children
Like many New York families, we tend to stick to our neighborhood and the things that are familiar to us. The Chinatown Food Walking Tour gave us a fun way to introduce our son to the sights, sounds and tastes of Chinatown, which he'd always been curious about. It also has given us the comfort to start making Chinatown's wonderful restaurants and shops a regular part of our lives. Our guide was Raheem was energetic and informative and the food, in the words of our ten year old, was "delicious," especially the "excellent" Peking Duck.

We have been to NYC many times. We love to visit Chinatown. This visit we decided to be tourists. It was my daughter's 18th birthday and she loves Asian culture, so this tour was perfect. Our guide was fantastic and provided us with an amazing afternoon we will always treasure! Our bellies were full and our minds were enriched with history! -Elyse and Tarney from Arizona
