Great time and met new friends!

The tour was informative, the food great. We were not crazy about the guide, she rushed us at every stop saying there was another group right behind us. Maybe if she hadn't spent so much time talking we would have had more time to sit and enjoy the food and the experience.

Wonderful tour with great food

We thoroughly enjoyed our tour with an enthusiastic guide (Diana) who was full of information about restaurants, clubs, architecture and some history. The weather was rainy and cool, but it didn't matter as our visits to restaurants were great. We ended up re-visiting two restaurants and two clubs because of the tour.

Good tour overall

Thought the tour was very interesting and the food sampled quite good. However, we felt very rushed starting about 2/3 of the way through the tour. Perhaps less time could have been spent during the orientation so as to not rush us later. In addition, we thought it was a waste of time to spend so much time inside La Lanterna when we were not sampling food there. At Cuba, the food was excellent, but we were encouraged to order mojitos and then had only a few minutes to drink them. Enjoyed the tour very much, but feel it could use a few modifications.

Highlight of our trip to NYC

I had purchased tickets as a surprise for our family...my husband, our 13 year old daughter(who eats everything) and myself, as a surprise!!!. Our host was Diana who grew up and has lived much of her life in the Soho, Greenwich Village area. She was absolutely fabulous with historic and cultural information as well as took us to some of the most amazing food stops. We visited restaurants, bakeries, butchers, eateries and more. We sampled alot of food. After the tour we visited 4 of the stops later for meals or treats. We would have gone to more, but had to come home!!!!! We will do one of the other tours on our next trip to NYC. I would absolutely recommend these tours to everyone!! Laurie and family

Great afternoon in the city

This tour was much better than I expected--better food, more information about the area and the history, and just a lovely way to learn little-known facts about this section of NYC. I took my mother as a birthday gift, and she and I really enjoyed it. We happened to have a perfect fall day and the streets were crowded, which only added to the energy of NY.

Your tour was wonderful. It was recommended to me by a New York native as a great thing to do when my mother and sister-in-law came to NY for a short holiday. We had a great time. I loved that the food was affordable, the guide knowledgable and that the information she provided was about many topics. We had a blast.

Foods of NY tours are wonderful if you really want to get an in-depth look and taste for a particular area of the city. Much better experience than sitting on a coach and just looking at things as you pass them by. The group sizes definitely need to be kept small to keep with the quaintness of some of the establishments and even the areas. The last thing you want to do is make it feel too touristy. We had 16 ppl + myself and that should be the absolute maximum. Anything more would not be manageable and alter the experience. I've done this tour and the original Greenwich Village one and loved both!

Great food and neighborhood

Susan was our tour guide. She was wonderful. We did not feel rushed and were able to enjoy all the wonderful food. It would have been fun to shop at some of the stops, but with a group of women, the tour would have lasted 6 hours rather than 3 hours. There were 10 of us from Wisconsin in this group and we all enjoyed the tour.

I had went on the original Greenwich tour on a previous NY visit and had my eye on this tour. Was a bit hesitant after reading old comments but when I went back to the website closer to our departure date, I noticed they made more improvements on this tour, based upon feedback, and booked this right away. I was travelling with my sister and sister-in-laws and we all loved this tour. Portions were large and the food was great. We had a great variety from the Indian wrap, pasta, ricotta cheesecake (mmmmm), empanadas, tortellini, smoked mozarella, black pepper sausage and the walnut tarte. Susan kept us at a good pace and entertained us with her knowledge of the Village. I was glad she mentioned Peanut Butter & Company; even though the tour does not go there anymore, it is a funky place so typical of NY that it can have a whole restaurant themed around one food item. I really want to try the dim sum tour next visit. How about having a Harlem soul food tour?
