The best activity I have ever done in NYC!

My husband and I were told by a friend to try a food tour on our day trip to NYC. Every time we have been to the city before, we just shopped and hung out. We just cannot stop talking about our experience on this tour and our tour guide, Susan, is absolutely wonderful. She told us so much interesting history about Central Village/SOHO. The food was outstanding and we were very impressed with everything. We cannot wait to come back again and try another area food tour! We just hope that all of your tour guides are as great as Susan. Thanks for a great 3 hours!

The guide was excellent...took care of everybody, gave interesting commentaries delivered with a clear, resonant voice. He appeared to have a genuine interest in his work and in the area and places we toured. There was a good balance between the food and culture aspects of the tour. The food was interesting. Next time I'm in NYC I would go back on my own to visit the food places we toured.

Fantastic Time!

The tour was great. Our guide not only knew the history of the area and the restaurants, but she was a local who had her own history in the neighborhood and was able to share great insights about the establishments we visited. She made sure everyone was able to enjoy the tour regardless of age or mobility level. Of course the food was fantastic, and while sufficient from a quantity standpoint, left us wanting more from a taste standpoint! My wife and I plan to try another tour the next time we are in NYC. If you are looking for a unique way to explore the city, there isn't a tastier way to do it. Cheers! JP & Julia

A 'Must Do' for tourist and local alike!

Visiting NYC for the weekend from Boston, my husband and I wanted to do this tour - to get a sense of the history, culture, and architecture of Greenwich Village. This was one fabulous tour and absolutley surpassed our expectations!! Our guide, Suzie, knew her stuff - both in terms of the local merchants, local history, and the 'Who's Who' of some of the precious gems of the Village and she is an excellent storyteller. But above all - the food stops - restaurants and deli's were outstanding!! It is essential to be hungry when you start this tour because in the course of the stops - you certainly eat more food than one would in an average meal. In fact - even though we wanted to have dinner at one of the restaurants Sat night - - we did not even eat dinner that evening! But on Sunday - we knew right where we wanted to go. I am sharing these discoveries with only my closest friends. We purchased one sausage at the meat market we had visited and most certainly should have purchased more! This tour is fun, informative, a great value - and absolutley delicious!!! A gem in itself~ THE perfect way to spend 3 hours on a saturday. Highly recommended! Thank you!!

Fun Way to Learn History & Enjoy A Bit of Food

Our tour guide Susan couldn't have been more knowledgeable and friendlier. This tour is great because it combines a lesson in history with a bit of the local food thrown in as well. Although we did not go very far -- we stayed within a 6 block radius -- we did walk around quite a bit and we were certainly tired at the end of the day. Sampling food from 7 different establishments that I'd never been to before (even as a local) was delightful. My sister and I took our mother for her birthday and she loved it. I am looking forward to trying another Foods of NY tour in a different area... perhaps Chinatown next. Thanks for a great day!

This was my 4th food tour with this company. I have enjoyed all of them. If you like to eat and try new food dishes, this is for you! I took my family from out of town on this tour and everyone said they had a good time. In addition to food, you do learn about culture of the neighborhoods, both past and present. The first 3 tour guides I had were AMAZING-lots of energy and made everyone feel welcome. Real professionals. The last tour guide we had was okay. She didn't have the positive energy like the rest of the experiences I've had with the company. It wouldn't deter me from taking another tour with them-she was still informative.

We did the Greenwich Village - Soho tour and were totally thrilled with it. When I booked it I was afraid it might be a bit cheezy and inauthentic, but thought we'd give it a shot anyway. I knew from the first stop that we were in for a good day. The food we ate at the Indian restaurant was absolutely delicious, and the other diners in the restaurant were from Mumbai, so it was clearly an authentic place! All of the other sites were terrific too - almost all locally owned for generations by the same family. It really felt like we were getting an insider's glimpse into the neighborhood food scene. Our guide was great - a young guy that knew his history and his food. And the other people in our group were sophisticated and polite, so it didn't feel like you were being dragged around with some huge obnoxious tour group. I would reccomend the tour to anyone!

We all had a great time on the tour. Especially enjoyed the ricotta cheesecake and the chocolate walnut tart! Diana was our guide and was very knowledgeable about the area and New York in general. We talked about it many times during the remainder of our trip. Now we just need a chance to do the Chelsea/meat packing district tour and all the others!

This was the first tour we've taken with this company, and we were absolutely delighted. Barri was a knowledgeable and enthusiastic tour guide. The 3 hours consisted of a cultural tour interspersed with tastings - some "on the street" and others 20-30 minutes sitting down inside the restaurant. The pace was perfect. We had approximately 15 in our group - it was a perfect size and by the end of the tour we had met everyone. Overall it was a great experience. I would highly recommend the tour to individuals, couples, and families with pre-teens on up in age.
