This was the first time my husband and I did a food tour. We absolutely loved it and are now looking forward to doing the other tours! Our guide was very informative and had a wonderful personality. We didn't feel like we were on a typical tour, but rather more a part of an intimate gathering.

Through our enthousiasatic guide we really enjoyed all the different snacks and the surroundings of Bleeker Street, McDougal Street and the Washington Park. A day later we went back to the Dante Cafe and enjoyed a very nice cappuccino. Whitout the tour your would never have guessed all the nice places.

This is my 3rd food tour in NY. As before, it was wonderful! The guide, Rahem, was very knowledgeable and likeable. We had ample samplings and a good variety of foods. The guide always gives a lot of history of the locale and details about the architecture. Each participant is given a booklet/handout detailing the stores and restaurants included in the tour so you can return there easily if you so desire. I have enjoyed them so much that when I complete all that are offered, I will probably repeat them. Loads of fun too.

Great way to see part of Manhattan, learn a bit about its history, and eat some tasty snacks along the way.

Favorite Part of My Trip to NY

First of all, I was already excited about going on this tour because I am a hospitality person and wanted to experience something new and different...especially with people that love food. I was visiting a friend that lives in New York and we decided this would be a great thing for us to do together since I love food in general. I was pleasantly surprised at the fact that Rahim (I think that was his name) had the same passion for food and the experience with it as much as I do. He was fantastic and I loved his way of conducting the tour. We also had the pleasure of attending it with Heather (another one of your guides). What a great time! I loved the mixture of food, historic points, and music plugs. It really reached our group of people and you gave us a great view of the area. I didn't really want the tour to end. Oh and it was incredible to see the relationships you have built within the community that you visit. Like I said, being in the industry, I was impressed and loved every second of it. To Rahim, thank you for a wonderful tour. My friend and I went to Bellavitae for dinner because of your recommendation and seeing the restaurant. The ricotta cheesecake and the panna cotta were to die for. We would not have known about it without you. You were great! Thanks for helping me find my passion for food a bit more. The foodie side of me loved it! I will recommend this to anyone!

It was so nice to see a quieter side of NY. We loved the food and our guide was very enthusiastic. Despite the rain, we had a wonderful time. Thank you.

This is the 3rd food tour I have taken and have loved it just as much as the others (Greenwich tour and Meatpacking District). Rahim, our tour guide, was extremely enthusiastic. The food was wonderful (again, as usual) and even though it rained at times, it was well worth it.

Great Tour, Great Tour Guide

Susan was a very gracious and knowledgeable tour guide for the 10 of us (6 didn't show up). We started out a Cafe Del Mare-a cafe with it's own personality and cast of characters. We had a lovely bottle of wine and cheese plate served by the day manager. We proceeded along the streets and tasted interesting small bites of Indian, Italian, Cuban, and French food. We saw lovely neighborhoods and lovely neighbors. I was a bit disappointed to not even a piece of cheese at the second Italian restaurant (not Monte's, the other one-see, I cannot even remember the name). I was not aware that FONY pays for the "bites" we taste. I felt it made the restauranteur look cheap... when really Todd chose the what and where. You may want to reconsider because the Cuban food, although tasty, wasn't the "heart healthiest" with the fried Empanadas. Anyway, we love the FONY tours and will probably book another the next time we visit. Susan shared a lot of personal experiences with us-a plus as it makes the tour seem genuine and not "canned". Re: the Entertainment Scene...walking into Club WHA did not do a whole lot for me...it would be cool to go into a Jazz club when rehearsal is going on. That would REALLY be a memory. Todd, thanks for the great tour. I plan to send Susan a thank you note myelf. As I have previously mentioned, Curt did a nice Chelsea/MePa tour on Halloween last year. Nancy Gorsha P.S. Any chance of seeing a Food Network taping of Iron Chef? We went on our on to Clinton St. Bakery (as recommended by Bobby Flay on an April "Throwdown". The blueberry pancakes were spectacular.

SoHo & the Central Village came to life with Raheem's enthusiasm. We had great fun, great food, and over 3 hours of entertainment!
