Central Village/SoHo Food & Culture Tour

This is my fourth tour with Foods of NY. It was a good tour and Diana was very knowledgeable. We especially enjoyed her anecdotes about her personal experiences growing up in this area. I think it would have been nice if she had taken a few minutes at the start of our tour for all the participants to introduce themselves and say where they were from. Previous tour guides have done this and I thought it was a very nice touch--personalized the tour a bit more. We will definitely return to Masala Times and Cuba, as well as the Foccaceria. I look forward to taking the Nolita tour next time and hope you will add more offerings for this one since this one was unavailable for at least a month out. I realize that many venues in the Village are small, but it would have been nice to see the interiors of a few of the places for which we had tastings on the sidewalk that Diana brought out. Seeing the interiors adds to the tour and helps me to remember the food and the place.

Two of us had taken the Greenwich Village Tour a few years back and based on that experience, we decided to return, this time accompanied by our families--which included seven vegetarians! We could not have been more thrilled with this tour. Our guide, Rahim, was an enthusiastic, entertaining and informative host. His stories brought the history, culture and architecture of the area to life. And, the food was excellent from start to finish. Great variety and as vegetarians, we were very well taken care of. Thanks to Rahim from 'Your Canadians.'

As stated on the website, tastings were enough to satisfy lunch, however, most of the tastings were very highly carb based. We did enjoy the informative guide, but would have liked to have covered more area.

This is my third food tour. I have been on the Chelsea Market and Greenwich Village tours. I liked this a lot, but liked the other two better.

My husband, 13 yr. old daughter, and I had such a wonderful time with our guide, Susan, and the group. Susan is so knowledgeable, personable, fun, informative and pleasant to be with. The food choices were perfect . . . just the right variety and excellent quality. We tried this on a whim as something different to do and now we can't wait to sign up for more tours of different NYC neighborhoods. We will recommend this experience to all our friends . . . native NYers and visitors. THANK YOU.

We are locals and wanted to do something different with our 2 kids (teenagers). Rahim, the tour guide was fantastic! He was very enthusiastic and knowledgeable. We stopped at some terrific spots and the food was amazing. We truly enjoyed every aspect of the tour and would highly recommend it. At the end of the tour we were very full. My 2 daughters really had a great time as did my husband and I.

Our guide, Susan, was not only knowledgable but also she was fun to be with. We strolled around the Village for about 7 tastings (delicious!!!) and also learned interesting "insider" information about Greenwich Village. I plan to re-book with this company for a food tour of a different NYC neighborhood.

The food tour true to its name was not only gastronomically very fulfilling but simply "filling"too! The best part were the stories and anecdotal details provided by our tour guide (Rahim). Walking through the streets of the village and through Soho, listening to interesting tidbits of history and architecture were for me most enjoyable and what I will remember for the longest time.

We stopped into little hidden gems to eat that I would never have gone into on my own. Our guide also pointed out many of the other shops and entertainment venues. We got a little of the history of the area and had a great afternoon.
