My friend and I wanted to do something different in NY. We took the Village/SoHo Food tour. Raheem was a great tour guide, and he is very knowledgeable and fun. The restaurants that he took us to were great and the portions were generous. We are planning a trip back in the fall to actually eat at the restaurants and to visit some of the clubs that he told us about. We really had a nice day and feel that we know a little more about NY! I would recommend this tour for those in their mid 20s and up. It is not a tour for children or young adults.

Our guide, Diana, was enthusiastic and full of historical and cultural tidbits. We were able to sample fantastic food from a variety of eateries and merchants. It was great fun and the memories will last a lifetime, whetting the appetite for a return visit to a different locale in NYC.

Delicious tastes! An A for food, C+ on culture.

We were VERY impressed with the quality and diversity of the food tastings. As a Manhattanite, I eager took business cards from the restaurants to plan my own future visits. Our guide was pleasant, though I think her information on local history, architecture and culture could have been more extensive. The visit to the basement of the theatre Wha’s Up was a waste of time. A narrow staircase to a dark room that looked like any other dark room.

I would recommend this tour to anyone. Tourists and locals alike are sure to learn something new. I certainly would book another tour the next time I come to NYC. Our guide, Raheem, was great. He was very personable and knowledgable about the foods, businesses and history of the neighborhood. Wear comfortable walking shoes and enjoy.

Rahim was great! He knew so much history of the area and the influences that shaped the unique culture that exists there. In addition, the man knows food!!! We returned to the area the next day and again another evening later in the week as a direct result of what we learned on the tour. We will definitely recommend it to our friends who travel to NYC. The only negative was that our tour was originally scheduled on a different day and for some reason was changed. We were notified ahead and were still able to reschedule for another day during our trip. Unfortunately, as a result one of our party was unable to attend. However, we were able to get a refund without a problem, which was appreciated. Thanks, Rahim!

I wasn't sure what to expect as I had never been on a food tour before but our guide was young, hip and put everyone in the group at ease despite the varying demographic. We not only learnt a little bit of the history of the area, we were given a lot of food by the restaurants we visited and got to enjoy the wonderful New York city surroundings. It didn't feel like a tour really, more like a cultural walk through the neighbourhood with someone very knowledgeable. The restaurants we visited were unique, interesting and the food, naturally, was delicious! Definitey recommend you try it if you want a relaxed and original way to see the city.

WOW! The tour was fantastic! We had a warm , sunny day for Rahim to introduce us to the foods , sights and secrets of the Central Village and SoHo. The food was delicious and the history behind each place we passed or stopped at made the tour the special experience that it was. We met people from all parts of the country and Europe. We are already planning an early summer visit to SoHo, so we can return to the restaurants and night spots. Another FoodTour will also be on our list of THINGS WE MOST DO in NYC. We ENTHUSIASTICALLY RECOMMEND this tour!!
