We expected to walk more and explore both the Village and SoHo. Our village tour focused mostly on MacDougal street and immediate environs and the SoHo part I think was when we crossed Houston street and walked couple short streets like Sullivan. We wanted to see more of the area and actually walk--there were so many streets to explore! After the tour we were able to walk on our own so the tour did help with our sense of direction. The food was OK at best save for a nice little morsel of smoked food. One Italian store in particular was spoken highly of and we went inside but we didn't get any food. People wanted to stop and buy something but we had to move on. I appreciated the tidbits of information we were offered about the area. I would advise to stay close to the leader so that you can hear everything, as sometimes the cars and trucks were louder than the voice. It was an interesting outing, and it seemed that most people loved it. However, don't be surprised if you want to stop and have lunch after the outing is over. |

I had requested vegitarian which was accomodated at one tasting for me but was not accomodated for me at one of the other tastings. Only one other vegitarian in the group and she was accomodated at both tastings.
The food was much better on the other tour we did at Greenwich village.
We are regulars and are signed up for the Chelsea Market tour in November. |

Our guide Diana was fantastic. She made the tour both educational and enjoyable by carefully adding personal knowledge about the area and helping us to see the neighborhood from different perspectives.
Of course, the food was fantastic. After the tour, my Godmother and I went to one of the recommended restaurants called Monte's and enjoyed a light meal.
This was my third food tour with your company. I recommend your experience to all of my friends and family. Keep up the good work. |

The tour provided information and sample food for several outstanding restaurants but the most memorable part was finding the old neighborhood establishments for cheese, meat, and pasta. These one of a kind, mom and pop places were unique and places I hope to frequent. Our guide, a NYU graduate, was most familiar with the area and enthusiastically shared his knowledge and opinons. |

Yummy, often non-conventional tastings. Introduces you to unique shops and restaurants that you'd never discover on your own. Highly recommended for foodies and non-foodies alike! |

Cannot rave enough about this tour. If you are planning a tourist visit to NY, take this tour FIRST. You'll then have enough great choices of places to go eat for your entire visit.
This is not just about a food tasting. You can read specifics about that in other reviews.
It is also a very interesting and informative cultural/history tour of the area.
My wife and I are both over 60 years old, we have slowed down a bit in the last 20 years, but the walking was not strenuous, although the day was hot and humid.
Our guide, Raheem, was terrific. (This seems to be the ongoing message in almost every review I read). If all the other guides are as good as he, this is a “cannot miss”.

The tour was lots of fun and very informative. I learned a lot about the area which I never knew before. Our guide was knowledgeable and spent lots of time going over the architecture of the buildings as well as the mult-cultural aspects of the area. Our walk included stops at some local eateries but could have included more. We stopped at a few places that we were told about but were not able to sample the cuisine - disappointing! Our mouths were watering with the description of the food!! Washington Square was fun but I would have liked to have seen more of it. We only did a couple of blocks of SoHo and I didn't get the flavor or feel of the area like I did on the first part of the tour though Central Village. I had a great time and am looking forward to booking another of the other tours. Wear good supportive shoes and dress appropriately and you'll enjoy yourself immensely! |
