This was my third tour with Foods of New York. I would have to say that this tour out of the three would not be the one I would recommend for people looking to choose. The other two (Original Greenwich Village and Chelsea Market/Meatpacking District) seemed to cover more interesting areas and had more variety/food tastings. The area is lovely to walk around but you could get the same feel walking yourself. The group dynamic may have contributed to this review - a considerable number of older people that slowed the walking down (a lot of waiting and catching up). We got the feeling that the tour guide was a bit frustrated!

This was my second Food Tour, the first being a tour of the West Village. Comparing the two, I would say that this tour was more about the food and less of the history of the area. There was plenty of information but the West Village tour was crammed with detail. Having said that, however, our tour guide, Susan, was fantastic. She was enthusiastic, knowledgeable and very "New York." We loved her. We got a good overview of the "Beat" generation; the wealthy merchants who migrated uptown around Washington Square Park to get away from the crowds and docks of Battery Park; and the story of tenament housing built by immigrants for immigrants. The food was a surprise with the very generous samplings of Turkish gyros, pasta at Monte's ( we are going back this Saturday for dinner), servings of beef and chicken empanadas with mojitos ( drinks add'l charge) @ Cuba, smoked mozzarella, and the most delicious chocolate pear tart from Once Upon a Tart. And, after alll that, there were even more samplings. By the end of the tour we were all stuffed, and tried, unsuccessfully, to convince ourselves that we had worked off all the calories during our walk. Highly recommend these tours to both tourists and locals. To Sue, thanks for a lovely day!

We had never been on a walking tour before and so were both a little anxious... but what a treat was in store. Our guide, Diana, was full of information about the history and culture of Greenwich and SoHo. She was a great story teller - lots of interesting detail and plenty of enthusiasm and passion for NYC. We particularly appreciated her impersonations of characters as she delivered dialogues when we paused at street scenes / buildings used as sets in great movies. As visitors from the UK we were particular pleased to be in a party of women from the USA and had informal conversations with them over the food tastings when they offered valuable recommendations of what else to see / where else to go. We are looking forward to our next trip to NYC and will certainly book up for another walking tour then. Cannot recommend highly enough. Lynn & Shirley.

Had a wonderful time on the central village / SOHO tour last Saturday. We got to sample a variety of delicious specialties from local places and from more exotic cuisines. Enjoyed the history and the real estate info almost as much as the food!

This is the third food tour that I've tried. All 3 have exceeded my expectations. Once again, the guide was great and the tastings were fabulous! It is a great way to spend a few hours in the city, having some good food and learning some interesting history that I would never learned otherwise. Would highy recommend!!l

I just spent a great activity-packed long weekend in NYC with my girlfriends and this tour was my absolute favorite thing we did! Our guide was fun, informative and full of energy. We got to see an amazing part of the city that we had never seen before and tried food we had never experienced before. We loved every minute of it and would definitely recommend it! I can't wait to do it again the next time we visit!

Raheem was great. He tooks us to some very unique eateries. He also was very knowledgeable about the history of the area. The combination made for a great tour.
