The food tour was very good and interesting. Learned the history of the area and went to restaurants and food stores I never would have found on my own. This is the 2nd tour I've taken and highly recommend it.

Even though we spend alot of time in the general area, this tour took us to places we don't normally frequent and introduced us to a new group of restaurants we can't wait to go back to! The food samplings were delicious and we weren't in need of food afterwards. The added historical information was something we never would have known if we just wandered around on our own- a great addition to the delicious food. It was a great way to spend 3 hours and we'll be looking into taking other tours from Foods of NY!

im a local new yorker and took my boyfriend on this tour as a goodbye gift (moving to miami) and a way to do a few touristy things he'd never gotten the chance to do while living here. we both loved it. our guide was very friendly and informative. really interesting details about a neighborhood i thought i knew pretty well. the food was diverse and delicious and almost too much for us to finish (almost!). the only thing i would change is maybe to include the option of getting a drink at the cuban place in the price or possibly discount the drink given that essentially the whole tour is supposed to be covered by your one time fee. other than that, it was a great experience, i've already recommended it to several friends and family members.

ENTHUSIASTICALLY RECOMMEND!! Both my roommate and I agreed that this ranks the top when it comes to describing our favorite NY experiences! The tour guide was endlessly knowledgeable and it was a delight to learn so much detail about the neighborhood and culture of this area! Who knew the streets that I walk every day had such a story to them? The food was obviously a treat to be able to try so many varieties of food and feeling welcome in every establishment. My roommate even went out to one of the restaurants that evening and had an amazing time as well! We'll be trying one of the other stops tonight actually! Even the downpour rain didn't sour the experience because you have not really experienced NY until you've been caught in a downpour. Thanks for any amazing experience, I'll be sure to keep food tours of NY in my book as an activity for both locals and tourists alike.

I had been on NYC tours before and thought it would be tough to be as good as the last but this was really a GREAT tour. Susan the guide was very good at making everyone feel comfortable. Her passion for the tour and her knowledge of the area and it's history made this one of the best tours that I had ever been on in the city! The choice of food was diverse and very exciting. The length of the tour was perfect and the volume of food was tremendous. Oh I forgot...it really speaks volumes that I had such a great time and it was a crapy raining day!....We got beyond the weather and had tons of fun!

Susan was a very gracious and knowledgeable tour guide for the 10 of us (6 didn't show up). We started out a Cafe Del Mare-a cafe with it's own personality and cast of characters. We had a lovely bottle of wine and cheese plate served by the day manager. We proceeded along the streets and tasted interesting small bites of Indian, Italian, Cuban, and French food. We saw lovely neighborhoods and lovely neighbors. I was a bit disappointed to not even a piece of cheese at the second Italian restaurant (not Monte's, the other one-see, I cannot even remember the name). I was not aware that FONY pays for the "bites" we taste. I felt it made the restauranteur look cheap... when really Todd chose the what and where. You may want to reconsider because the Cuban food, although tasty, wasn't the "heart healthiest" with the fried Empanadas. Anyway, we love the FONY tours and will probably book another the next time we visit. Susan shared a lot of personal experiences with us-a plus as it makes the tour seem genuine and not "canned". Re: the Entertainment Scene...walking into Club WHA did not do a whole lot for me...it would be cool to go into a Jazz club when rehearsal is going on. That would REALLY be a memory. Todd, thanks for the great tour. I plan to send Susan a thank you note myelf. As I have previously mentioned, Curt did a nice Chelsea/MePa tour on Halloween last year. Nancy Gorsha P.S. Any chance of seeing a Food Network taping of Iron Chef? We went on our on to Clinton St. Bakery (as recommended by Bobby Flay on an April "Throwdown". The blueberry pancakes were spectacular.

Our guide 'Racmede' (sorry for spelling) was extreemly knowledgeable regarding the local restaurants and history of the area; very considerate for the group while concerned for the locals, particularly with safety of all. My wife and I would strongly recommend both him and the tour and hope in the future to have him as guide on the 'sushi' tour. Best regards, Mike & Nancy Moore
