Central Village/SoHo Food & Culture Tour

way more than just a food tour! so well thought out between the culture of the village/soho, the history and food. couldnt have been happier with the way things went, and definitely plan to do it again.

It was a bitterly cold day as we treked through the Central Village/SoHo in search of wonderful bits of food and some cultural history with our guide, Raheem. But the weather didn't detract for one second from the delicious food we tasted. And Raheem did an excellent job of getting us inside as much as possible. Our group of six moms and six teen daughters had a terrific time. Even our more picky eaters became adventurous and declared the food delectable. Raheem was entertaining, full of information and fun facts and did a great job of explaining the foods we were trying -- some for the very first time. We were full to the bursting point after our tour and lamenting about why we'd even bothered to make dinner reservations later that evening. This was my second trip with Foods of New York Tours and I'll be back for more!

I would recommend this to anyone. The perfect balance of food, history and walking!

There is no other place that can retain it's charm and individuality through time, changing cultures, and fast paced NYC like Greenwhich Village. Through Susan's eyes, as we strolled through Greenwhich Village, Washington Square Park , and bits of Soho, we explored this enchanting community all the while enticed by the inviting delicacies this delightful neighborhood offers. We were enjoyably saturated by the sights, sounds, and tastes of Greenwhich Village under Susan's entertaining tutelage. As native New Yorkers, whose hearts belong to the Big Apple, this fabulous afternoon went far beyond our expectations.

Our guide, Susan, was not only knowledgable but also she was fun to be with. We strolled around the Village for about 7 tastings (delicious!!!) and also learned interesting "insider" information about Greenwich Village. I plan to re-book with this company for a food tour of a different NYC neighborhood.

A food tour during lunch time was a great way to discover a neighborhood. We did this the last day of our stay, but wished that we'd done it earlier. Than we would have had time for some more food tours in other neighborhoods as well. Great way to get interesting information, experience a city and try some great flavours. Wanted to come back to several places but didn't have the time. Great guide. Over all a great experience!

Wonderful flavors, nice amount of tastings, good variety. Loved hearing about the architecture, history of the neighborhood, and "culture" of the people.
