One of our favorite activities in NYC!

We did two tours on our spring break trip to the city, and we absolutely loved both of them. We will definitely do another tour or two on our next trip. The food was amazing, and our guide was fabulous. She was so informative about both the food and the neighborhood. It was a great learning experience as well as lots of fun for both adults and kids. We went in expecting great food, which we got, but we were so pleasantly surprised to come away with a much deeper understanding and familiarity with the area. The benefits from this tour will last beyond this trip and will enhance our future travels to the city. These tours are a MUST!

Susan, our guide, was energetic, knowledgeable, and sensitive to the group's needs. She was a great tour guide. I highly recommend this tour. It would be interesting for New Yorkers as well as out of towners. Each restaurant provided a substantial taste of the food and we were very satisfied and extremely full by the end!

Central Greenwich Village review

Our Central Greenwich Village food tour was fantastic. My husband, three grown children and son-in-law came with me. We loved every single food tasting and our tour guide Diana was so knowledgeable about the area and its history. We will most definitely visit some of the little shops again, and I know on our own, we would never have found these. Thank you Diana for making our visit so enjoyable.

Nice choice of restaurants to sample; learned facts about the Village that my daughter (who has lived in NYC for almost 10 years didn't know.

recommend your company & this tour but not guide

We love all the tours you do, but this one was our least favorite. The reason was the guide. Most of the guides are very friendly. She didn't ask our names. She didn't explain to the group the structure of the tour (so for example we walked into first stop, sat down and never heard an explanation that we weren't eating there but leaving shortly). She at least twice announced to use the bathroom then immediately said time to go, leaving group members in the bath room while others went outside. While walking she answered questions briefly and did not make chit chat (this is so different from other guides who were very personable). To polish it off , when my husband admittedly gave her a lousy tip she asked if there was a problem in a rude tone of voice. Honestly, this woman seems like she has been giving tours too long. She didn't have a passion for it but clearly was experienced. I found her abrasive.

Great food experience!

Our family thoroughly enjoyed our Foods of New York Tour (Central Greenwich Village & part of SoHo) and would highly recommend it! We were impressed with all the different types of food that were offered at many different establishments, from Italian, to Indian, to Cuban, to homemade mozzarella, etc. Each type of food was unique, fresh, and something you wouldn't have necessarily tried in the past. The information shared by our guide, Diana, was very interesting and we were delighted to hear about the history and culture of the neighborhoods as well as the food itself, and the proprietors who cared so much for their excellent products. It was a very different kind of tour from the typical tourist experience, and we loved it, as did our 14-year old niece, a devotee of the Food Network! We were fortunate to have a sunny day; I am not sure how much we would have enjoyed the tour in the rain since it is a lot of walking and eating outdoors.

I was so unexpectedly surprised by this tour. I never eat cheese, expect on pizza, and yet this tour fed me three dishes with cheese (one one just cheese and tomatoes) and I loved it all. I literally cannot pick a favorite dish I tried on the tour. Our tour guide, Rahim, was an excellend tour guide and was very knowledgeable and nice. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

We had a wonderful time walking around the village and Soho and learned so much about the architecture, the restuarants and the food. The tour guide was personable, knowledgable and kept things moving at a terrific pace. The sample foods were delicious and the overall experience was one we would recommend highly to friends and family. Thank you for a great time.

Great way to experience the real New York
Thu, Mar 28  12:00 PM lltozier Male 60-69 Domestic Tourist(s) Family With Children
Our guide provided a feel for the real New York (at least in the Greenwich Village area). His knowledge of the area, and its history and people was exceptional. The tastings were all wonderful, and represented a wide variety of ethnic and local foods. In addition to the scheduled tasting stops he introduced us to several other local food vendors. This was an enjoyable and educational way to spend 3 hours in the city.
