Central Village/SoHo Food & Culture Tour

GREAT FOOD, GREAT GUIDE, GREAT TOUR!!! you get a ton of food, you get to see a great part of NYC, and the tour guide was awesome! plus its cheap!!! you can't beat it!

Great time - 6 fabulous tastings - my wife and I purposely didn't have much for breakfast and we were full for the rest of the day/evening.

Wanting to learn about Greenwich Village and Soho and also wanting to visit some local eating establishments, the Foods of NY Tours took care of both these interests very well. Led by friendly, personable and intelligent Susan, we took a nice leisurely walk over 3+ hours pausing on sidewalks to learn about the area's history. The time was also broken up by sampling several small items from -- on this trip, but each trip is different as they have many places to choose from -- Italian, Indian and Cuban restaurants, plus a cheese shop and French bakery. It was enough food to comprise a solid lunch. We also stopped in a store making fresh pasta and one selling teas and herbs. With a good knowledge of the area, we were then comfortable to further explore the area on our own immediately after the tour and to come back for a late night dinner via subway. I regret not buying from the guy selling pickles from wooden barrels on the sidewalk. The tour provides a booklet with map, 27 restaurant recommendations with particular favorites at each, and coupons. All in all, a wonderful adventure learning about a special part of the city that the typical tourist would never see. Highly recommended.

What a great tour!!!! Our guide, Susan was very friendly and informative. The tastings were delicious and portions were huge. There was no need to eat dinner afterwards.

Our guide, Susan, was terrific--very informed of the neighborhood, history, etc. She was a natural. A few of the tastings were unique and ALL were delicious! Would definitely do another tour and have recommended it to friends/family. A great day was had by all.

We visit New York annually, and this is the first time we took a culinary walking tour. We chose this tour because it offered the greatest variety of food tastings. We expected minimal amounts of food, but were surprised at some of the tastings--they were much more than single bites. We were so full after the tour that we skipped dinner that night before going to a play. Our guide, Rahim, was great, and we learned a lot about the neighborhood and its history. We are looking forward to trying one of the other tours on a subsequent visit to New York.

Dianna was our enthusiastic tour guide full of insightful information, a couple of 'star' spottings and a pleasure! We had just enough to eat, a great historical overview which kept our interest and the time flew. We're planning on a Chinatown tour in the fall.

Our guide was just great. He was jovial and intelligent, the food was fun with great variety, and it is a beautiful area of NYC.
