We thoroughly enjoyed the food tour. We were glad we were recommended the tour by friends in Aust. Our guide Susan was not only pleasant she was very informative not only about the food but the area we toured. We were treated with decent food and a informative historical prespetive of the of the area we visited. In short it combined the best of two things food and culture in 3 hours.

We are a New Jersey couple who are frequent visitors to the city and the "Village". This tour led us to new places we have walked past and missed on our own. We will be back to most of them.

We had a great time! Our guide, Susan, was a neighborhood resident who was knowledgeable and passionate about where she lived. The food was both varied and delicious. It was nice to be in an urban area that also had a true small town vibe.

This tour was so-so at best. Some interesting food, not much on the local history or culture, very little walking and a guide whose enthusiasm for the neighborhood bordered on arrogance made this a blah event. (For our guide, you evidently would be amazed to learn there are ethnic restaurants, spice stores and coffee stores outside NYC!) Can't recommend this one. Just not enough there. The highlight was the mojito at the Cuban restaurant, the name of which escapes me (yep, the tour was that memorable). Spend your valuable time elsewhere.

History Culture and Food

My wife and I had just arrived in New York to start our US holiday when we attended the tour to get firsthand experience for real New York food. The tour was interesting giving us a good feel for the history, culture and foods of the Greenwich Village and Soho areas. The guide was friendly and knowledgeable and moved at the right pace throughout the tour. We had a variety of food and the quantity and quality was good. We both enjoyed our experience and were pleased that we included this in our itinerary. Chris and Vivienne - Sydney Australia (June 2013)

This was a great walking food tour. I was amazed at just how much food was given out on this tour! We had a really good time. I would definitely recommend this tour to anyone.

Took my wife and two teenage children on this tour. We had previously attended the Greenwich Village Tour. We enjoyed this almost as much as the Original Greenwich Village tour. There was plenty of food and our tour guide was very well informed. As a person who grew up in New York, I feel as if I am really starting to get to know this part of the City. My teenage children enjoyed the tour as well.

This is the second Food's of NY tour we have taken. The guide/historian was incredible. Everyone in the neighborhood knew him. The food was excellent and plentiful. The cultural and historical explanation was second to none. The tour was so personal, we feel just like family. This is a must see, must do for tourists and locals alike. If you want to experience the real NYC, this is the best way to spend three hours.

Very Average food but an enjoyable walking tour

The tour guide was lovely and very knowledgable. The walk around the area as very enjoyable and her personal history of the area added a nice dimension to the tour. The food was, at best, average. For a food tour I expected exceptional food but the local deli at union square serves better food than we had on the tour. Would I do it again? Probably not. I could have done a walking tour with no food and enjoyed it as much as this one with such mediocre food. Am I sorry I did it? No but it isn't really a great food experience.
