Sample tasty treats from ethnic, old-school eateries in two distinct areas - one colorful and exciting, the other surprisingly quaint.

Wonderful tour through Central Greenwich Village

Susan was a wonderful guide who had a great deal of knowledge about the village and its long history (and growing up in the city certainly contributed to her credentials). She was extremely personable and engaged the entire group. Somehow she memorized everyone's names (17 folks), so no one felt left out. The food was really good and a diverse mix of offerings. The only negative is that we didn't have much time at one spot, so although people ordered drinks (alcohol), there was little time to drink it w/o chugging. Outside of that, I highly recommend this and the Original Greenwich Village tour--both were amazing and very different.

This is the 4th food tour we have done while visiting NYC - each tour has been a delightful event and our most recent no different. Highly recommend anyone coming into the city to do one of the food tours - it's a learning experience about the culture in the neighborhood you are touring as well as the enjoyment of the bountiful portions you are served as your travel from point to point - Highly recommended!

Our tour guide was good and knowledgeable however whenever we sat to eat she disappeared for a while which made it feel a bit dis-jointed I have done 2 previous NYfood tours and those guides stayed with us and continued to tell us more info about the venue, chef, history etc. etc and of course I know it must be hard to compare to "Kurt" the guide I had on Chelsea Market tour last month as he is absolutely wonderfully entertaining happy thanksgiving tina

We left stuffed with delicious food. Our guide was infectiously friendly, helpful, and knowledgable. We'll absolutely sign up for another afternoon with Food Tours of NY on our next trip to the city!

The foCaffe Danteod was ok compared to the other 2 tours from Foods of NY that I have been on Chinatown and Orginal Greenwich. The history and information and the tour guide were great and enjoyed that part of the tour. The food was nothing to speak of. The coffee shop where we didn't have a tasting was much better then the tea shop we did. The other stops except for the first place CCaffe Dante and the last Once upon a Tart, were not great.

Central Village tour

This tour unfortunately disappointed all of our group. The stops were rather underwhelming. The Italian restaurant served peen pasta with neither sauce or meat. Our tour guide asked if anyone had heard of Bolognese ? Really! And we had a basic meat and cheese sandwich at another Italian restaurant and ended at a rather dirty Caribbean place who forgot our drinks! We walked around only two blocks and them did Washimgton Park. Our tour guide tried, but we thought she maybe has been doing this too long. We have done many of these tours: this one was not worth the time put in.
