Being poor grad students, we were a bit hesitant to spend almost $50 on a food tour, but after experiencing the diverse array of delicious foods, learning interesting historical info about the neighborhoods/local shops, and being entertained by the rather humorous tour guide...we feel it was worth it! We also appreciated the fact that the tour company/tour guide was able to accommodate our dietary restrictions. |

We were lucky to have a cool but sunny day for our tour. I wouldn't recommend walking around in wet / foul weather. Three hours seems to be a perfect length of time for the walk as you don't get to sit down and rest except at two of the six stops. Wear comfortable shoes! Our guide, Susan, was very knowledgeable about New York and food(!) and she spoke very well to our group. The four of us would take this tour again. |

My sister and I took two more food tours with them this October, adding to our two tours last year in New York. We love them!! Not only for food, but for the history of the area and the great stories from the tour guides. We have had excellent guides, plenty of food and good timing on bathroom breaks! We only have the Chinatown tour left to do.....maybe next year!! |

Rajish was an excellent and informative guide to the village and Soho. We plan to take the china tour next time we are in town. The food, the sites and history made the three hours fly by. We left wanting to do another food tour. |

Bari was an amazing guide, very knowledgeable not only about the neighborhood but about all the food we ate. She consistently listed off ingredients to all the dishes we had and gave us a great concept of the history behind everything. She was very good at keeping the group together, keeping track of everyone, and had a real passion for the Village. Thanks for everything! |

Great tour!!! My first trip to NYC, first day, first everything. The tour was a great intro to the Village. Great insight and historical reference. The food was much better than I expected it to be. Portions were good. Fun group, and a great tour guide. Well worth the $$$. I would definitely recommend this to anyone.

The selections are a good introduction to the choices available of purveyors and not just restaurants in the neighborhood.
I chose this tour over the others offered by the same company because of the variety of cuisines. Though we did have Indian, Middle Eastern, and Cuban, it would be better to have more of the 'other' world cuisines that we kept passing by. The tastings themselves were good fare, not spectacular, but I was full by the end of the tour.
Despite the piles of snow and slush all over, the temps were mild enough that it was not torture to stand around on the sidewalk.
Our guide, Rahim, was very enthusiastic, knowledgeable, organized, and clearly enjoys what he's doing. |
