Heart of the Village Food & Culture Tour

activity photo

Sample tasty treats from ethnic, old-school eateries in two distinct areas - one colorful and exciting, the other surprisingly quaint.

Fascinating and Delicious

Our group really enjoyed the tour. The food tastings were excellent, and our guide was well informed about the area, the buildings, the shops/restaurants and the food. He was humourous and a delight to be with. There was perhaps a bit more food than we really needed in terms of overall quantity, but it was all so good, we would not have wanted to miss any of it. We enjoyed this tour very much, and since we were so well fed, we just arranged to have a late dinner after our theatre outing that night, which worked out really well.

Wonderful tour with a great variety of tastings

We visit New York annually, and this is the first time we took a culinary walking tour. We chose this tour because it offered the greatest variety of food tastings. We expected minimal amounts of food, but were surprised at some of the tastings--they were much more than single bites. We were so full after the tour that we skipped dinner that night before going to a play. Our guide, Rahim, was great, and we learned a lot about the neighborhood and its history. We are looking forward to trying one of the other tours on a subsequent visit to New York.

These food and culture tours are a great way to get oriented to one of New York's neighborhoods. The accompaniement of food makes for an enjoyable combination that also provides more intimate familiarity to the neighborhood. The Village is such a landmark and has so many hidden gems in small restaurants and specialized food shops that this tour of the Central Village isa real treat.

We had the BEST time with Barri, tasting, laughing, walking, learning. We would highly recommend this tour if you want to meet fun people, sample LOTS of great food, and just have FUN being a part of the neighborhood for a few hours. Come HUNGRY and plan on skipping dinner that day.

Loved the eating places we visited and learning about some of the history of the village. Certainly didn't need lunch or dinner when we finished! Our guide was very knowledgeable and entertaining.
