This is the second Food's of NY tour we have taken. The guide/historian was incredible. Everyone in the neighborhood knew him. The food was excellent and plentiful. The cultural and historical explanation was second to none. The tour was so personal, we feel just like family. This is a must see, must do for tourists and locals alike. If you want to experience the real NYC, this is the best way to spend three hours. |

No need for lunch with this historical tour of local neighborhood.
But not what I expected. I expected to go to an artisanal cheese shop, taste a bit, and have time to purchase; stop at a deli, taste a bit, with an opportunity to puchase my fave!
continue on to: pastry shop, Chocolatier, coffee, tea, etc.
Still and all, our guide, Barri was a wealth of information, while we "snacked" our way through the Village into SoHo. |

The tour guide was lovely and very knowledgable. The walk around the area as very enjoyable and her personal history of the area added a nice dimension to the tour.
The food was, at best, average. For a food tour I expected exceptional food but the local deli at union square serves better food than we had on the tour.
Would I do it again? Probably not. I could have done a walking tour with no food and enjoyed it as much as this one with such mediocre food. Am I sorry I did it? No but it isn't really a great food experience. |

Our host Susan was excellent, and we had an unexpected thunder storm and were able to stay longer at Cuba, and they were very accommodating. |

This was a great tour! I went on the Chelsea Market one a couple of years ago so knew what to expect but was still impressed. The whole tour was realxed but informative. The food was delicious and plentiful and the group was friendly - I was a lone Brit amongst a group of Americans! I now regularly recommend these tours to anyone holidaying in New York. It's a great way to get a different experience of the city. |

The food tour was one of the highlights of my New York City visit. Susan was a wonderful guide: warm, funny, knowledgeable, and clearly passionate about her city. We visited more restaurants and shops than I expected, had delicious samples at each, and got a good overview of the neighborhood. It was a cold day, but we had plenty of chances to warm up as we popped into various establishments. I hope to visit New York City again, and would certainly take another Foods of New York tour. |

It was my first time to NYC, and a friend of mine strongly encouraged me to book a food tasting tour. I am seriously glad that I did! Not only did we have some truly fantastic food, the tour group was small (less than 15 people), the tour guide, Susan Volchock, was fantastic, and I was introduced to a truly charming part of Manhattan in Central Village and SoHo, which I probably wouldn't have even ventured to if it weren't for the tour. Don't be worried that you won't get enough food. I found myself turning down leftovers, and I have a phobia of not getting enough food in restaurants. Plus, the tour was far more than just food tasting. Susan gave us a tour of the area that included quaint streets, cultural stops, pop culture references, amazing architecture, and a great walk through Washington Square Park. Did I mention that the food is fantastic? I can't wait to go back and take my wife with me to eat in some of the many restaurants in the area AND take another food tasting tour of a new part of the city. Thanks for a great experience and value! I would highly recommend this tour, and encourage you to book it in advance. |
