A beautiful day, a fabulous tour, and a thoroughly knowledgeable guide. What could be better? And oh yes, the food was just wonderful. Diverse, well-paced and tasty. Now I can't wait to sample some of the other tours. There was a nice mix of ages on the tour, from newly married, to middle-aged and older, so everyone felt comfortable. And BTW, the mojitos were just as advertised: the BEST ANYWHERE!! In case you are on the fence about taking this tour, just do it. You will certainly be pleased.

Sidewalking

This tour was good. We walked around the village alot and learned many interesting facts about the history of the area. The food tastings, which were interesting, were given to you on the sidewalks. There were various sit downs because of rain but this tour is more for the historical aspects of the area. The tour guide (Diana) is a lifetime local New Yorker and is very versed on the area, famous movie spots and the history. We went to many local places where we can go back to and buy food. I like the idea of going back and buying after the tour. I was sorry there was no pasta tasting at Raffetto's. I didn't like the halavah or the pasta bolognese (although the restaurant is excellent). The Cuban restaurant was nice and could be a very romantic spot. The sangria there was excellent. All in all, the tour is well worth it. I look forward to taking some more.

If you are limited on time but want to get a supersize helping of true village culture then this is the tour for you! Not promoted in Australia I found it on the net. As a single person it is difficult to get on tours like this and not be the odd one out! This definately doesn't happen. Staff are dynamic and welcoming to all. The information was up to date and relivant, the walking is easy and the eating is easier! You get about 7 eating stops. Warning, don't eat beforehand! You won't have space for the volume of food they give you. You are provided with a bottle of water to help wash it all down and the only hidden extra is an alcohlic drink that is an optional purchase. It is a great way to introduce yourself to the vibrant village life. The information will equip you with enough knowledge to brave those secretive Jazz bars and coffee shops that only the locals know about!

A good introduction to Greenwich Village/SoHo

Having joined this tour upon my arrival from Australia, I can say that I was very pleased with this tour group. It was a great way to see what this side of New York City had to offer. Our Tour Guide immediately put us at ease and showed us the culinary and architectural delights of Greenwich Village and SoHo. My favourite restaurant was the 'Cuba' restaurant where (as they promised!) served a very memorable glass of mojito. Alcohol-aside, I highly recommend this tour as a way to see this gorgeous part of New York City whilst sampling their delectable food at the same time!

This was a great experience even though the weather was in the 20's. Our guide was so enthusiastic & knowledgeable about the Village & Soho that he made the tour come alive with the personalities & history of the area. The shopkeepers were very hospitable. You must try the mojitos at Cuba. I plan on taking this tour again in the Fall so I can enjoy it even more!

Good food and good local information. On a cold day, the guide made sure we spent time in doors. I was concerned about restrooms, but there was plenty of opportunities. Guide was knowledgable about food and about the area- historical information and anectdotes. Would definitely take another tour with this company.

Our guide did a super job! She included background history of the area, interesting facts and foodie information. I had some wonderful tastings. It was nice to sit down in a couple places with the winter weather. I appreciated the brochure of restaurants and shared this with my sister, who is going to New York this week.

The tour of Central Village and a bit of Soho was a highlight of my trip to NY. Our guide Susan was welcoming and well informed as she guided us through the Greenwich Village neighborhood, with a bit of history here and a bite to eat there. All of the food offerings were delicious, and I have a wide variety of restaurant choices to recommend the next time I'm in NY. Thanks for a great afternoon!
