Sample tasty treats from ethnic, old-school eateries in two distinct areas - one colorful and exciting, the other surprisingly quaint.

I enjoyed the interesting descriptions of the neighborhoods. The tour guide was well informed and treated the members of the group respectfully. It felt a bit rushed but we covered a lot ground and I wouldn't have cut anything out. The food was interesting, not too filling, and well spaced over the 3 hours. Toilets were available at appropriate intervals. Getting an adult beverage at one restaurant was a bit rushed.

Barri (sp?) was a great tour guide who provided lots of information and a lively tour of the neighborhood. This is my second food tour (Greenwich Village last time) and although I liked the food better on the first one, I felt I learned more about the neighborhood this time. 5 stars!

My son and I had the privilege of taking the Central Village/Soho Food and Culture Tour. This is the second food tour we've taken in NYC and plan to do them all. Susan, our tour guide, was wonderful. She was so knowledgeable about the different locations where we had tastings and as well as the history of the noteable places in the area. The tastings were all delicious from the focaccia with fresh mozarella, tomato, roasted red peppers and basil down to the chocolate pear tart. I highly recommend these tours to anyone visiting or living in New York City.

WE enjoyed the walk, the food, the fellowship... but our guide did not show the best manners and extend the best hospitality towards those in our group. She was arrogant at times, and not always up on her facts of the area, as she was corrected once by a (local) bystander who was exiting the building she was telling us about. The food was a nice blend of what was available in the area. It rained for most of the 3 hours, but we still enjoyed our food tour! We would take another tour the next time we are in New York.

My two grown daughters and I loved the walking food tour through the Central Village/SoHo districts with our guide, Diana. Diana was wonderful as she was knowledgeable, enthusiastic, and just plain fun. We liked being with someone who is actually from New York, clearly loves it, and is able to impart what the city has to offer. The food tastings were fabulous! We really enjoyed ourselves in spite of the fact that the afternoon seemed to get colder and colder. Thank you so much for adding so much flavor and local color to our week in New York.

We have now done three tours, Greenwich Village, Chelsea Market and now Central Village/Soho, and of this one was one of the best. Come hungry as you will be tasting many varieties of food. Our tour guide, Raheed, was extremely knowledgeable with the area, including the food and the architecture. You will not be disappointed with this one. Enjoy! M Anderson Malta, New York

The weather wasn't kind, so the bits on the street weren't as good as they would be if it were warmer, but that's not your fault. We heard a huge amount about New York food we would never know without going on the tour, and we tasted amazing things. I wanted to go back to them all. Don't miss the (optional extra) mojitos. We did go back for another one of those! I booked a food tour, but also got a lot of information about the Village, its history and buildings, and our guide, Raheem, really knew his stuff. I'm coming back to do the Chinatown tour.

Opera lovers love it

Our group of 7, in NYC for opera and shows, decided to expand our knowledge of the city through the tour. Though we have varied food likes and dislikes and one of us has celiac disease, the tour seemed to cater to each! What fun , even in foul weather. And it gave us lots of ideas on places to eat on our next visit.
