Go on this tour! There were five of us in our group and we all thought it was great, even our 10 year old! We went back to one of the restaurants a few nights later for dinner. Raheem was a great guide! The food was great and the information was excellent! If you like food and New York, you'll enjoy this tour.

My wife and I have been to NYC a number of times and were a little concerned about something so "touristy". But it turned out to be an excellent use of time as well as fun. The food was very good, but the history was even better.

There were six of us visiting New York for my wife's birthday and we were looking for something different to do. My wife heard about the walking food tours and suggested that it might be a fun thing for our group to try. Well, she was right. Everyone in our group loved it. We did the three hour Central Village/SOHO tour. The tour guide was very knowledgeable and did a great job showing us around. We stopped at seven different locations for food tastings. We sampled everthing from soup to main course dishes to deserts. Everything tasted good and everyone in the group felt full by the end of the tour. We also stopped at other interesting and historic places in these neighborhoods. To keep this very short, I would highly recommend this tour for anyone visiting the city.

Much More History of the Restaurants than Expected

Raheem, the tour guide, was a walking encyclopedia of knowledge of the culinary cuisine and history of SoHo/Village restaurants. Were able to make about 7 stops with a variety of foods and cultures, without being rushed. Best part of all, I was able to purchase a wool hat made in Tibet(very cold that day) while putting down hickory smoked mozzarella and a handful of homemade sausage!

the walk, the food, the people, all excellent and a great way to see a part of NY that you wouldn't normally get to visit......BUT what really makes the day special is Raheem the tour host and guide, he is brilliant ! He made the whole thing interesting and exciting, full of wit and humour and packed with local knowledge, all my family felt entertained, newly cultured and totally stuffed !! Thanks.

Terrific; guide should cite source "This is best_"

Fabulous intro to the area toured (Central GV and a tiny bit of SoHo). Extremely well organized; even arranged alternate food items for those with special dietary restricitions w/ advance notice. Excellent variety of foods: soups, savories, sweets, sit inside, eat on sidewalk. Only suggestion is that guide frequently said "This was voted the #2...in NYC for (whatever)" or "This is the best... " without saying "according to whom?" Was this the guide's personal opinion or as voted by Yelp, Zagat, TripAdvisor, etc.? In my eyes, guide lost points for credibility due to this lack of factual citation. Caused me to question his statements that "this was the club where Dylan first performed..." and so on. If a guide is going to say "This is the best___" say whether his opinion or according to whom (and when). But we will look to do the other food/culture tours in the future. Great way to learn a neighborhood and where you want to go back to.

An excellent opportunity to explore the city. Great for locals and tourists. An awesome way to spend a day with friends. Make sure to dress warmly if you are doing a tour during the Winter.

Though the weather was terrible, my dad and I enjoyed it. We had been to the area the day before, but the tour brought that area to life, no question about it. Since we went right after xmas, some of the places were closed as one might expect. I guess more alternative destinations would have been welcomed though the tour guide did provide substitute locations. I am recommending to a family member that is visiting the area in a few months. Without question, this was a highlight.

Susan, our guide, was wonderful and the food we experienced was very good, so much so we went to Monties for dinner that night. A pleasant evening for 12. We did have a negative experience regarding a Jazz bar - "Next Door" I think it was called, where they rejected our "application" to sit in the tiny Jazz area as we were such a large group, even when I pointed out they had enough seating. Never mind, we went off to Cafe Wha instead. Great music of a different sort. Once again, thank you Susan for your professionalism.
