Very enjoyable tour that explores the food of the area mixed in with a lot of history. The tour guide was friendly and knowledgable as a native New Yorker and was open to any and all questions thrown her way. The food was delicious and plenty enough to substitute for lunch. Would definitely recommend this tour and would even take it again in the future.

My friend and I really enjoyed the tour. The guide was very knowledgeable regarding the sites and we really liked the way the tastings were spread out. We would have preferred to be able to go into all of the restaurants to have the full experience of tasting all of the food on the premises. The historical aspects of the neighborhood was appreciated. It is definitely something we would do again.

Our tour started out with a friendly intro from our guide Susan, Susan was great and clearly enjoys her job. The tour took us to several locations around the village and SOHO area. All of the food stops offered us a wide range of culture tastes from an Italian sandwich to Cuban plantains. We received a lot of information about the history of the area and if I can suggest anything it would be to add a little more about what is happening in the area today. It’s a fascinating part of NYC and has a great history, but the tour takes you to a couple of new eateries and I think it’s important to talk about the present day along with the past. I’m a massive fan of food and would have liked to sample a little more, but due to limited time I can see why you can’t spend too much time in one place. It was also nice to see that Susan stopped a couple of times to say hi to people that had been on the tour previously and were back to enjoy some of the shops and restaurants.

We took the Greenwich Village/Soho Food Tour with guide Susan. She was very informative about the neighborhood and shared a lot of insights. The food venues that we visited were very diverse; many were places we would have passed by without giving them a second glance but were so glad to have found on this tour. We would definitely take another tour with Foods of NY

Excellent - We wish that we had done the tour earlier in our visit so that we could return to the places we visited. Susan was wonderful - informative, solicitous and fun. Would recommend highly. Will be entering the photo contest.

Food For Enough for An Army

Our tour guide Susan knew her neighborhood and she was eloquent with great descriptions. The food was outstanding, though I had wished there wasn't so much fried foods. One would have been plenty. I love food but a taste would have been sufficient in some of the cases. Some of the "tastes" were enough for one meal and knowing we had 3 hours of food, that was way too much to serve us each time. A quarter of the sandwich from Cafe Dante, a quarter of the breakfast wrap from Marsala, and way less fried. I would recommend this tour and look forward to taking others. Now that I have completed one, I know to just taste and probably waste the rest at each stop.

A Perfect Sunday Afternoon in New York

We had a fantastic time on our food and culture tour. The tour guide was fun and knowledgeable. We strolled an area of Greenwich Village and SOHO that we would have never seen if not for this tour. On our long weekend in NYC we had gone to two Broadway shows, had delicious meals, and gone on a double decker bus tour but this was something none of us had done before and it was the perfect Sunday afternoon in NY!

The tour was very detailed with a lot of history and some really good food! I was surprised at the portion size in total, there was a lot of food! I didn't totally love the purple haze, but it was interesting. I liked touring around the neighbourhood and would definitely try out a different neighbourhood on a tour like this another time. I would have liked if some of the references to bands that got their start at the bars were a bit more current - but I'm not sure if that's a reflection of the area or of what the tour guide knew/thought we would be interested in. Overall, a great time.
