Diana's knowledge and the food were awesome

I came into town alone for a few days to see NYC and wanted to see some of the cultural history in NYC. Diana, our tour guide, grew up in the area and was incredibly gifted at telling stories that went along with our food. The choices of food pushed outside my normal buys and she showed us that a facade is often not telling enough about the inside of the restaurants. I met new people and the 4 hours passed by so quickly. Totally loved this and will do again.

Our group was only 11 people and we had such a great time with Susan. We made 7 different stops and tasted some really awesome food! Starting with pizza and finishing the tour off with a pear and chocolate tart. I think we spent about 3.5 hours walking, talking, and of course, eating. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone. It was a opportunity to get outside the standards of Times Square. I will definitely be looking to book again on our next trip to NYC

I definitely enjoyed this tour with our great tour guide Raheem, who had a lot of interesting stories to tell about New York City in general and about Greenwich Village in particular. I partizipated alone, but never felt uncomfortable - thanks to our fun tour guide and the other tour participants. The food was very good (Italian, Indian, Caribean - you name it) and also I'm quite familiar with this different types of cuisine Raheem could give me more background information even there. Eat good food AND get interesting information on New York? What a perfect combination and definitely recommended!

INteresting overview of the neighbourhood

This tour was a good way to get to know the central village a little - the walk only covers a small area so not too much walking. The guide gave us some interesting facts about the architecture of the area, and introduced us to some great food stops. I had expected to learn a little more about the history of the food of the area (that was perhaps me misinterpreting the description of the walk) but I certainly learned about its general development and the food-stops were fantastic, so I wasn't disappointed. And it was great to have a couple of sit-down spots in the schedule.

It was nice. The weather was an inconvenience. The tomato soup could have USEd a grilled sandwich cheese. i like the Jamaica food, but it would have been nice to have it on a bigger portionplease .please make it better.. Nplease pext ptime , one whole piece of the tart! No sharing ! The tour guide was knowledgeable but it was weird he was promoting another restaurant.. Is he getting a commission from them?

Whenever I travel, I want to experience the local culture and food as much as possible within the limits of time. Finding this culinary walking tour made me so excited and I immediately signed up. It was everything and more than I expected. Our guide who has lived in NYC her entire life had a wealth of knowledge . Her passion for the Village and all of her stories allowed me to really "feel" and experience where I was. AND the restaurants and shops we visited were perfect. They were all ready for us and shared wonderful samples of their product. I was very well fed! I will never forget it and I wll recommend it to anyone and everyone! Cheers.

Diane was a delight. Entertaining and witty, and very knowledgeable about the area. Weather was on the cold side, but frequent stops helped. Vendors visited were quite varied and their foods were good. We enjoyed the exposure to Greenwich Village.

Not exactly a "FOOODIE" tour

The food was not very good, not to mention interesting. I also got a weird vibe every time we stopped at a restaurant and we either couldn't go in or they made us wait outside because they were unprepared for our arrival. I felt like we were a nuisance to the proprietors. The man at the coffee shop actually made snide comments like, "ok you've seen it now leave." At the Cuban place, we had to wait outside because they weren't set up for us yet. There was plenty of room at the bar for us to have waited. And speaking of the bar, the guide pushed and pushed everyone to get cocktails (which we could have done earlier if they had allowed us in) and then rushed us so much in the end that people were sucking down their drinks as fast as they could and rolling their eyes at each other complaining about being rushed. And I'm sorry, but the food was boring and unpalatable. It was a waste of money and time.
