Going to NY? Don't miss this tour!

The tour was not only culinary and cultural, but architecturally enlightening as well. Our guide (Rahim) was knowledgeable, affable, and entertaining. The tastings were well chosen and delicious--things we may not have ever had a chance, or an inclination, to try. The pace was comfortable but not dawdling, and the entire experience, especially the small group, was a pleasure. We went back to the Village a couple of nights later and ate at one of the featured restaurants--what a treat! My wife and I (60-ish) and our daughter (29) thoroughly enjoyed the tour and highly recommend it to anyone and everyone. For us, it's a "don't miss" on a trip to New York.

It was an extensive sales talk of neighborhood restaurants with street food sorts of samples.. The guide was energetic and made an effort to conceal the sales pitch nature of the event.

Anothe great tour from Zerve
Sat, Jun 2, 07   12:00 PM lizotte Female 60-69 Domestic Tourist(s) Unspecified
this was our 3rd tour with Zerve - we did Chelsea's Market in 2005; Greenwich Village in 2006 and Greenwich/Soho this year (2007). Your tours are GREAT! very informative and the food is delicious and of a great variety. We learned a lot and now will be able to visit these areas on our own and know where to visit. what will we do next year - you've got to come up with something new. We were a group of 5 friends. 3 having been to NY & 2 not. Your tour proved to be a highlight of our 5 day stay. It gave us an excellent feel for the area & returned one evening to enjoy dinner at Monty's, visit the Comedy Cellar, & a Blues venue. The mix of history, & food cultures proved excellent. We tried things that we would never have found or tasted. We all would highly recommend this tour to others. The weather was an added bonus - no umbrellas required!! Antonette Stone.

Great tour guide but need a sit down break

Barri, the tour guide, was the best part of the tour. She was extremely knowledgable and passionate about the area. If there is not going to be a break in the walkiing, that needs to be stated in the write up. I went with a group of ten women and it was very tiring for many of them. We had been on the previous tours and there was always a stop to sit and catch your breath...this definitely needs to be included on this tour for it to be enjoyable for many. Also, the food on this tour is very ethnic...it would be better if there was a better mix of the food. Many in our group did not enjoy the food selections...how about a regular bakery or a chocolate shop? We were all definitely craving something sweet after the tour. I would hope that you could make some adjustments so that this trip would measure up to the two previous trips.

All three of us had taken (and thoroughly enjoyed) the first Greenwich food tour a few months ago and were equaly enthusiastic about this one. Great guide (Barry, not Mary!), interesting information, excellent food. A great value and perfect way to learn about NYC. The next morning we returned to Cafe del Mar for a wonderful brunch. Good food at a very reasonable price.

We wish this kind of tours could be possible everywhere in Ny.Next time we´ll try another of your tours We had this phenomenal guide, Barry, who took well care of us all, who informed us so well on cultural and gastronomical issues while we walked. We could not miss anything. We´ll remember New York after this, be sure.

Great guides, good information, too much standing

I loved the information that we were given about the area that we were in and the restaurants that we could return to to eat,d rink and derive entertainment from. The down part of the trip was a lot of standing around instead of walking or finding a spot where we could all sit and listen to the guides. The food was good and they accommodated individuals who were vegans and disliked spicey food. Very considerate. Some of the portions could have been larger or peraps have two small ortions of two different foods at the same location. I wold reccommend this tour to others in the New York area as something to do when they first arrived so that they had options for dinners and entertainment away from Broadway.
