Central Village/Soho Food Tour

My three friends and I visited NYC and took this food tour. Diana was our guide and our group had 12 individuals. Diana was very pleasant and provided a great deal of history about the area as well as the food/establishments. The amount of food was just right. It was great to try a variety of foods that we have never eaten before. We tasted Italian, Indian, and Cuban food. Our dessert was a chocolate tart from Once Upon a Tart that was simply amazing! I am glad we did not have the full number of people (16) allowed on a tour. More than 12 would be difficult to manage to me.

We very much enjoyed our walk through Central Village and SoHo. Susan was our guide and the perspective that she brought to the tour as a native was priceless. The food offered was excellent and plentiful. Don't attend this tour and plan on an early dinner- definitely will be too full. Great value for the money.

This tour was so-so at best. Some interesting food, not much on the local history or culture, very little walking and a guide whose enthusiasm for the neighborhood bordered on arrogance made this a blah event. (For our guide, you evidently would be amazed to learn there are ethnic restaurants, spice stores and coffee stores outside NYC!) Can't recommend this one. Just not enough there. The highlight was the mojito at the Cuban restaurant, the name of which escapes me (yep, the tour was that memorable). Spend your valuable time elsewhere.

Our guide was Susan, she was fabulous. She made the tour interesting and fun. It is a great way to feel more comfortable and familiar with an area. This was one of my favourite tours. We ate delicious foods from Italy, Cuba, India, had interesting drinks from Rabbits and great desserts. I was a solo female traveller so the tour is a great introduction into an area as well you have the opportunity to meet like minded people. The tour is an easy pace as well as very filling. Highly recommended.

Our guide, Susan, was charming. She knew the area very well, and provided such interesting history, and she was so fascinating talking about the architecture in the area. I've never really been that interested in architecture. Who knew that a "food tour" would also teach me about architecture? She pointed out several places that we visited later, including a jazz club and a coffee store. We not only had a great time on the day of the tour, we totally enjoyed the area when we came back several evenings later. We had no idea what a fun and "happening" part of Manhattan this was! The food on the tour was really delicious - just right for people who are coming with an appetite. We are "foodies" and we love variety and spice and new flavours, and this tour provided all of that. Highly recommend this tour.

Took my wife and two teenage children on this tour. We had previously attended the Greenwich Village Tour. We enjoyed this almost as much as the Original Greenwich Village tour. There was plenty of food and our tour guide was very well informed. As a person who grew up in New York, I feel as if I am really starting to get to know this part of the City. My teenage children enjoyed the tour as well.
