Central Village/SoHo Food & Culture Tour

I enjoyed the tour however thought it was spent too much on about 3 streets. Also felt that it really did not include SOHO. We just went to the edge at the end of the tour, however I would recommend it.

Rahim was great! He knew so much history of the area and the influences that shaped the unique culture that exists there. In addition, the man knows food!!! We returned to the area the next day and again another evening later in the week as a direct result of what we learned on the tour. We will definitely recommend it to our friends who travel to NYC. The only negative was that our tour was originally scheduled on a different day and for some reason was changed. We were notified ahead and were still able to reschedule for another day during our trip. Unfortunately, as a result one of our party was unable to attend. However, we were able to get a refund without a problem, which was appreciated. Thanks, Rahim!

Tour guide was really great. She clearly loves what she does and has emotional ties to the neighborhood of Greenwich Village. These make her the perfect choice for this position. The food samplings were wonderful. I would go again anytime I am back in New York.

We all really enjoyed the food tour. The guide was dynamic and informed. The food was great and we were pleased that we got more than a little taste at each place. When we come back to NY, we will definitely try one of the other tours.

WOW! The tour was fantastic! We had a warm , sunny day for Rahim to introduce us to the foods , sights and secrets of the Central Village and SoHo. The food was delicious and the history behind each place we passed or stopped at made the tour the special experience that it was. We met people from all parts of the country and Europe. We are already planning an early summer visit to SoHo, so we can return to the restaurants and night spots. Another FoodTour will also be on our list of THINGS WE MOST DO in NYC. We ENTHUSIASTICALLY RECOMMEND this tour!!

We had been on a previous gourmet walking tour so knew that the quality of the content and of course the food would be excellent. It lived up to its expectations in every way. Since the tour ended approximately 3 days ago we have visited and dined in two of the restaurants that we visited and recommended the tour to two groups of friends. One couple we have recommended the tour to are very difficult to please but we know that they will as satisfied as we were. The quality of the content given by the tour guide was exceptional and his enthusiasm for his subject of a very high level. But of course the real plaudits must go the all restuarants we visited, sat in and sampled the food. The range of tastes was breathtaking and the standard and quality beyond what even I expected given how pleased I was with my previous experience on a different tour. So a very satisfied set of return guests.

When planning our vacation in New York, my husband and I had been looking for a tour with a local guide and found the Food of New York Tours. What a wonderful way to experience a city and and its culture. We enjoyed the tour very much. Susan was very informative about the neighborhood, the restaurants and shops. She also had a very nice way of making everybody feel good. We loved the tastings, especially the cheesecake which was really unique. The visit at Cuba was very fun, too. If we had stayed a little longer we would a had a party in the cellar with the delicious Mojitos and Sangrias. We were the only international tourists in this group so for us it was a great chance to talk to all the US people. Special thanks to the "Alabama girls" for the nice company. Now we have to consider a trip to the South to taste your cuisine! All the best from Denmark.

Raheem, our tour guide, was excellent. He is knowledgable about food, architecture and history and is very engaging and always looked out for the group's comfort. We had very good food and learned quite a bit about local history of the neighborhood and enjoyed the food at the restaurants we visited.

My son and I thoroughly enjoyed the tour. Our guide was fun and knowledgeable about SoHo. We thought the food was all excellent and plan to go back to the area again on our own at dinnertime to try some of the restaurants we sampled. Nice variety of food and food shops - we loved it all!
