Sample tasty treats from ethnic, old-school eateries in two distinct areas - one colorful and exciting, the other surprisingly quaint.

I booked this event hoping for a great experience and all six of us agreed that it exceeded our expectations. The guide was extremely knowlegeable and fun. The food was excellent and the time flew by.
I would hold off making food reservations at many other restaurants if I would have known what was available in Central Village/Soho. Can't wait to come back and dine at the restaurants we visited. |

I purchased tickets for my husband and myself based on the recommendation of a friend--whose friend had done it. Thus, I was expecting a pleasant afternoon with my husband walking and stopping for nibbles. Our experience far surpassed my expectation!
First, our guide was extremely knowledgeable about the Central Village and Soho, and the tales he had to tell were most entertaining and informative.
Second, the FOOD...OMG! The bolognese...the cheesecake...the empanadas and yucca...the tortellini...the smoked mozzarella and sundried tomatoes (the best sundried we have ever eaten)...the chocolate walnut tart. YIKES! Not only were we full; we also felt like the quality of the food we had was far superior to what we had expected. We have already discussed returning to three of the restaurants when we can for full meals (and we are "foodies," so if the food had not been fantastic, we would have chalked the afternoon up to a good walk through a portion of Manhattan we love).
Just one suggestion: PLEASE expand your tours to include Arthur Ave in the Bronx and Williamsburg in Brooklyn. I'd be happy to sign up for both! |

Good Food But Tour Was Too Long and Boring

We really enjoyed each of the food tastings and would consider dining at a couple of the places (especially Monte's) in the future. The guide (Susan), however, talked way too much and did not impart particularly interesting information. We met at 12:30 and did not begin to walk in the direction of our first restaurant stop until 1:00 p.m. After two hours, we had only stopped for three tastings. We have been on other NY Food tours and were very pleased with the guides' knowledge (Michael Karp and Rahim) and the pace of the tour. This one, unfortunately, was disappointingly slow and boring.
It would be extremely helpful if we could know at the time of ticket purchase who our tour guide would be. I would gladly purchase tickets again if Michael or Rahim were the guide but not knowing will give me pause. |

Well managed and led with, if anything, slightly too much food! Interesting mix of restaurants, culture and history - an experience to be repeated! Get the tour in at the beginning of your trip - then start making reservations..... |

Our family took this tour and all 4 of us enjoyed it immensely. The food was excellent, and allowed us to get a sense of really cool things going on in the Central Village. The tour guide provided a wealth of additional information on the Village, NY in general, and some of the specific spots we were touring.
This was one of the highlights of our week-long vacation in NYC. HIGHLY recommended. |

Our host was so friendly and well versed on the topic of food. The samples were huge. I was very full by the end of the tour. I was in NYC by myself, so being part of a group was a nice adventure. This tour is well worth the investment of time and money. |

Very pleasant, relaxed experience and so informative!
Not too much walking, not rushed. We were introduced to restaurants we'd like to return to in the future.
Would do this again for another neighborhood. |
