Sample tasty treats from ethnic, old-school eateries in two distinct areas - one colorful and exciting, the other surprisingly quaint.

Wonderful tour with great food

We thoroughly enjoyed our tour with an enthusiastic guide (Diana) who was full of information about restaurants, clubs, architecture and some history. The weather was rainy and cool, but it didn't matter as our visits to restaurants were great. We ended up re-visiting two restaurants and two clubs because of the tour.

Good tour overall

Thought the tour was very interesting and the food sampled quite good. However, we felt very rushed starting about 2/3 of the way through the tour. Perhaps less time could have been spent during the orientation so as to not rush us later. In addition, we thought it was a waste of time to spend so much time inside La Lanterna when we were not sampling food there. At Cuba, the food was excellent, but we were encouraged to order mojitos and then had only a few minutes to drink them. Enjoyed the tour very much, but feel it could use a few modifications.

Highlight of our trip to NYC

I had purchased tickets as a surprise for our family...my husband, our 13 year old daughter(who eats everything) and myself, as a surprise!!!. Our host was Diana who grew up and has lived much of her life in the Soho, Greenwich Village area. She was absolutely fabulous with historic and cultural information as well as took us to some of the most amazing food stops. We visited restaurants, bakeries, butchers, eateries and more. We sampled alot of food. After the tour we visited 4 of the stops later for meals or treats. We would have gone to more, but had to come home!!!!! We will do one of the other tours on our next trip to NYC. I would absolutely recommend these tours to everyone!! Laurie and family

Great afternoon in the city

This tour was much better than I expected--better food, more information about the area and the history, and just a lovely way to learn little-known facts about this section of NYC. I took my mother as a birthday gift, and she and I really enjoyed it. We happened to have a perfect fall day and the streets were crowded, which only added to the energy of NY.

Susan was our tour guide. She was wonderful. We did not feel rushed and were able to enjoy all the wonderful food. It would have been fun to shop at some of the stops, but with a group of women, the tour would have lasted 6 hours rather than 3 hours. There were 10 of us from Wisconsin in this group and we all enjoyed the tour.

Great Food and Very Informative

Interesting places to visit and the food was delicious! Loved the variety from Indian to Italian to Cuban to the fresh smoked mozarella at Joe's Dairy. The ricotta cheesecake at Bellavitae was the best we had in the city! It was fun to actually go inside the restaurants and sit down to enjoy our tastes. Rahim was a wonderful tour guide and his stories really made the Village and SoHo come alive for us! It was great to have some details of the history and architecture and the colorful characters who have populated the area over the years. I would highly recommend this tour.

Wonderful Way to experience New York

We are 4 friends from Ontario on our 1st group adventure to NYC. One of the group had participated in your food/cultural tours in the past and was eager for the rest of us to experience the same. From start to finish we had a great time. It rained, but it did not matter a bit. The food was amazing.....the mohitos at "Cuba" were out of this world! Along with the great food we had the history of the area told to us by a great guide, Rahim? Rahib?......he was delightful, fun, knowledgeable. I would definitely be a return customer and can't wait for my next trip to bring different friends along. On behalf of our group ....Thank you for a wonderful Saturday! Rosemarie McHugh

I can't say enough good things about this tour. Our guide was very personable and very knowledgeable and he shared a lot of the history of the area with us along the way. There was a great variety of different types of food to sample, from Indian, to Cuban, to Italian, to pastries, to cheese and sausage, to (my personal favorite) genuine New York cheesecake. This is a great way to learn some of the history of New York, as well as a great way to discover some additional restaurants that you might want to try on your own in addition to the restaurants on the tour and it's a great way to get to try things that you might never have tried otherwise. Plus, you get to see a lot of interesting sites along the way. I can't wait to go back to New York again next year and take another one of these tours. I highly recommend this! It's well worth the money and the time.

Outstanding food and NYC geographical experience

Our tour guide Suzie was extremely knowledgeable about the different food locations and tastings, as well as the Central Greenwich Village area. Her personal experience within the territory and with the food was evident. My wife and I felt that the tour provided excellent value for the price. The volume of food was more than expected and Suzie's vignettes covering some of the sites (Minetta Lane, Washington Sq. Park, Cafe Wa) were very informative. Absolutely no complaints.
