Excellent tour! Thanks, sephra

Sephra was fantastic - fun, knowledgeable, hilarious! She balanced the food and culture tour of the neighborhood very well - from the ingredients to the history to the prices. Fortunately, it wasn't like a field trip - much more fun and light-hearted than academic and boring. I went with my mom as the standard parental tourist activity, but found it to be actually...yes, 'cool'. Funny real-deal anecdotes - now I not only have a greater appreciation for the village but I also have some amazing food and restaurant recommendations. And she handled the unexpected interruptions, including a random film crew, with good humor and ease. I'd recommend it to anyone - local or visiting! Thanks!

Lovely tour guide, great food, beautiful neighborhood - the only thing I'd change is the olive twist bread tasting. It wasn't very good - just bring out a hot roll or croissant or something like that instead. We had a ball!

Wonderful Tour, Wonderful Guide

The tour was excellent and included not only an overview of the local restaurants, but also a lot of interesting information and history of the neighborhood itself. Our guide was wonderful and enthusiatic (blond woman, forgot her name, sorry!) and displayed an enormous amount of patience with the other members of the group who participated when and how they wanted (wandering away or not keeping up with the group, ignoring the guide's directions, etc.). Highly recommended!

Good, but not great.

I have been on other cities food tours. I think it is the best way to see a city and experience it through food. I was a bit disappointed that we were not able to go into the establishments and meet the owners and have them talk to us about their passion for the food and business. It felt a bit disconnected. To no fault of your own the people in our tour group were not friendly and that was a bummer too.

We enjoyed the walking and food tour very much. We especially enjoyed our guide, Sephra! She was informative and entertaining! This tour was a fun way to spend part of a day in NYC and gave us a feel for the Greenwich Village area, as well as some great food. We never would have explored the area like we did had we been on our own. We've recommended this tour to some friends who are visiting the city in a few weeks. It was great!

We had a great time. Greenwich Village was really hopping with a street fair the day we took our tour. The place was busy, but I thought it really added to the atmosphere. There were wonderful smells of foods cooking everywhere! Our guide was Sephra (sorry about the spelling). She was really phenomenal: funny, relaxed, knowledgeable and clearly enjoying her job. She took us on a tour and pointed out things we never would have noticed and gave us some very interesting historical tidbits, all the while stopping here or there for a sample of something tasty at this restaurant or that. I believe we had eight stops with something different at each. There was plenty of food. Don't fill up before you go, and be prepared because it was pretty heavy on the carbs.

The tour was great. Much more food than we expected. The tastings are very good portions. Zefra (am I close?) was a great tour guide. She gave just a bit of history, architecture, entertainment, and was extremely knowledgable on food. Just what you should expect from a tour of this kind. She was extremely friendly and upbeat. We highly recommend this tour to anybody. Definitely request this tour guide if possible.

I live in New York temporarily and my daughter is studying at college in another city. I booked this tour for the two of us because we're both interested in food and we've done nothing like this before. She's been to New York several times and has visited most of the tourist attractions. But she has never enjoyed herself so much as she did on this tour. We tasted a variety of food. The things we loved the most were the fresh tomato pizza from Joe's, olive twist from Amy's Bread, rice ball from Faicco's and the big cookie from Milk and Cookies Bakery. The tour guide was great. She was caring and talked clearly. She took (introduced) us to restaurants and shops that we ourselves would pass and probably never notice. The walk along the serene leafy streets in west village was another highlight of the tour. We learned a lot and took some good photos. Acturally my daughter was so inspired by the tour that she is thinking of starting the same tour in my home country!

Fun, Sun and Food... we loved the tour

There were four of us, two couples, and we all thought it was a fun day... lots of knowledge, interesting facts, charming neighborhoods, and of course, great foods. We are hoping to do a different tour the next time and I 'm hoping it is soon. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable and very helpful. We loved the area we visited and want to see more on our next tour.. We were fortunate that there was a street fair going on the day we toured, which made it even more impressive... we went up and down Bleecker street more times than I remember, looking, shopping, trying on, deciding, and then finally buying what we liked the best. And, of course, forgot to buy a few things, so we know that we will be going back...
