Original Greenwich Village Food and Culture Tour

As first time visitors to NYC, the food tour was recommended by friends. We chose the tour of Greenwich Village. Word of warning: DON'T EAT BEFORE YOU GO! They food stops were plentiful and everything we tasted was great. Cindy provided little stories about the shop owners and tons of history on the tour.

We always enjoy these food/culture tours. This time I brought my mother and teenage son. They considered it a highlight of their week in New York. It's a great way to become familiar with hidden gems in a neighborhood, and whenever I return to New York, I go back and visit the places we saw on our tour. The guides are filled with personality and knowledge. Highly recommended. A great value.

WOW! Burt, our Greenwich Village tour guide, was incredibly knowledgeable and gracious. Our group consisted of myself and my friend and her 7 year old son. Since we were meeting in NYC, I suggested this activity, but I was honestly a little worried about taking her son with us. However, I needn't have been concerned. He was perfectly well behaved and attentive and willing to try almost all the foods offered to us. And Burt was sensitive to the unique needs/interests of a child even though this tour is clearly NOT geared to children. This is an incredibly well-run program. It was tons of fun and a great combination of history, literary lore and foodie facts. I cannot recommend this experience highly enough. In fact, a few nights later, after my friend and her son had gone back to MA, I took my (25 year old)son and a few of his friends to dinner at Little Havana, one of the rests. we'd seen--but not visited-- on the tour. We had a great meal and the guys --who all live in NYC...were thrilled that I introduced them to a fun new restaurant.

The Greenwich Village Walking Food Tour is the best deal around! Nice size group with a wonderful guide (Keriann) makes the whole experience a joy. The food is outrageous and the quaint backstreets are an escape to another time. I would recommend this tour to everyone who loves to experience great food and exciting locales. The City at its best!

Couldn't have enjoyed ourselves more. Our leader, Bert, made it so much fun and added so much informationn about the food, the area, etc. It was our first day on our vacation and it was a great way to start out. I can't wait to get back to NY so I can try a different food tour. Thanks.

I have been on a food tour in Chicago and in the Chelsea district in NY. The Greenwich Village tour was equally as great as the others I've been on. Our guide, Bert James, was very knowledgeable as well as entertaining. The previewed establishments were second to none and the food selections were soooooo good. I will highly recommend this tour to anyone that is going to NYC. I was sort of a tour guide on this trip for my 13 and 15 year old nieces, their mom, and my mother, so I was glad that this was one of the highlights of the trip. They thoroughly enjoyed this tour. Can't wait to return. I would do this tour again for sure!

We had a ball, Kerryann was out tour guide and she was brilliant, very friendly & knowledgeable. The tour covered alot of things but it did not drag us all over the city. We would definitely recommend to friends visiting & we will attend another tour when we come back. Excellent way to spend 3 hrs in NYC- eating!!

The tour was a great way to give out of staters a glimpse of Greenwich Village and teach locals and tourists about the neighborhood, its history, and its flavors with tasty tidbits along the way. Delicious qualiy food and tips on where to eat later. We loved it!

A very enjoyable few hours in the company of Bert - enthusiastic, knowledgeable and passionate about the food and places he was describing to us. Can't wait to get back to NYC to visit the restaurants again!

What a great experience. Our guide was knowledgeble and entertaining. The choice of restaurants was perfect. Would do it again in a heartbeat.
