Excellent! The food and our guide were awesome!

The tour was well-worth the $40.00 spent for the ticket. Even though it did rain the entire time we were touring, we were able to get in and out of the eating establishments in a timely manner. We were served foods such as cheese, bread, pizza, sausage, olive oil, and delicious bakery items. We had enough food to take the place of a light lunch. We met people from all over the United States and Canada. The group was very compatible and the guide, who was very friendly and helpful, knew more about the area since she lived in Greenwich Village. After the tour was over, we stayed in The Village for another two hours to visit some of the shops that we didn't have time to see on the tour. Would we do this again? Most definitely! We will probably come back next year when we make our annual trip to New York.

This is a fun way to spend an afternoon very interesting facts and history are imparted and our guide had lived in the neighborhood for years. I found him very genuine as people on the street passed by they all knew our guide by name. The food is okay don't expect anything gourmet (pizzas/breads/cheeses). I live in New York and know the neighborhood so I know most of the stores we stopped by but I still managed to discover one new store that I will return to. It was a lovely afternoon.

I was very impressed with not only the food we sampled but also the historical detail provided by our enthusiastic guide, Michael. Having visited Greenwich Village ten years ago I got so much more out of this second visit as a result of the Food tour. Not only did we get to sample some great international food we had an informative and humorous guide who really gave us a colourful background and insight into the community. We enjoyed it so much we returned the following evening to sample the cusine at one of the restaurants mentioned on the tour. A very enjoyable three hours with a great wine tasting to follow, I would thoroughly recommed it to anyone.

We went on the Original Greenwich Village Food Tour led by Cindy last week. She was an excellent guide - very knowledgeable about the area and foods/restaurants & shops, and at the same time entertaining. The 3 hours passed quickly with her. The variety and quality of the foods was good and there was more than enough to make up a lunch. It was nice that she gave us a break between samplings - otherwise I would have been stuffed!

Michael was a great guide. My husband was very glad Michael included so much of the history of the west village. I would add only one thing. Wine with the end of the tour cheese tasting. We had a great time.

We loved our tour of Greenwich Village. The guide was very informative and obviously loved his city. He gave interesting detail and history of the area and on top of it all fed us! The food was spectacular, we even returned the following evening for dinner in one of the recommended restaurants and saw someone else from the same tour there! We felt like we were off the beaten track and were not surrounded by tourists as we felt in upper Manhatten. Excellent, I would highly recommend it to future visitors to NYC.

A passion for life in Greenwich Village

At first we weren't too sure we were going to like our tour guide and all his corny jokes and comments. Pretty quickly however we warmed up to him as he started sharing his love of living in this fascinating neighborhood area of NY. We have spent quite a bit of time walking many of these same streets over the years but never had the information to truly enjoy all we were passing by. We also appreciated being taken inside a few of the restaurants and food establishments and introduced to the proprietors who gave interesting insight into their operations. Our tour guide was also quite helpful in that he knew in depth the history of these places. I would have to say that on balance, that while we had plenty to nibble on, and never were the slightest bit hungry, the tour is more slanted toward the history and culture of the Village. We were however given plenty of very helpful ideas for future eating adventures and have already followed up on a few of them. My partner on the tour is a CIA graduate and commented to me after the tour that our guide really knew food and the restaurant business well. If you listened to what he shared with us and embraced his passion for life here, I don't think you could possibly leave the tour without a thoroughly enlightened view of why this neighborhood has been so attractive to such a diverse group of people for so many years. Most enjoyable! A great way to spend a few hours in a wonderfuly part of the city. Fred & Brian
