This tour was recommended by a friend who took the tour. Great opportunity to learn the history, culture, visit the area and restaurants and taste great food! |

After having gone on the Chelsea Market/Meatpacking Tour and raved about it for months, the Greenwich Village Tour was a bit disappointing. While the guide was very interesting and full of neighborhood anecdotes, the food was not on the same level as the previous tour. The line-up of food was a bizarre combination -- we had pizza, followed by several combinations of bread/dough/starch with something on it or in it, followed by pizza again. Nothing stuck out as being really stellar and delicious. Having lived in the Village for two years myself, I know there are a multitude of culinary gems to be had -- it's a shame that the tour didn't partake in any of them. |

I recently took the Greenwich Village Food Tasting and Cultural Tour and thoroughly enjoyed every minute of it! It was a very hot and humid day in the city and our tour guide, Barri, was excellent. She kept us moving and motivated, with lots of stops on the shady sides of the various streets and a few stops in air conditioned restaurants.
The food was delicious and more than enough for lunch - I was stuffed by the end of the tour. The pizza was great, yummy cookie from Milk and Cookies and my favourite, the rice ball. Olive and Co. olive oils and balsamic vinegars were scrumptious.
Barri was very knowledgeable about the neighbourhood and provided lots of interesting facts and tidbits as we did our tour. It's certainly a great opportunity to see a side of the neighbourhood the average tourist wouldn't see.
I would definitely recommend this tour to anyone visiting the city. I can't wait for my next trip so I can do another tour!
Thanks! |

We had a tour guide named Barri, she was very informative, and seemed to love what she was doing.
We learned many things about Greenwich Village and the food we tasted was
excellent.
I would recommend this to anyone , especially New Yorkers. It is amazing what we do not know about this haven in New York City. |

Next time in New York we will spend a considerable amount of time exploring the Village on our own. I'm sure we will use the recommendations of restaraunts and food specialty shops. Our guide, Mike, was well prepared, engaging, and timely. |

I think that the balance of tastings is the one area that could use improvement. I agree with previous posters that this tour is heavy on the cheese/bread/pizza, and it would also be nice to get a beverage somewhere along the way - one water bottle wasn't nearly enough on a hot day. Loved the olive oil, chocolate chip cookies, and arrancino. The Thai dumplings were only OK. However Mike was informative and entertaining, carefully treading the fine line between energetic/enthusiastic and cheesy. I learned a lot, and enjoyed seeing a neighborhood in such depth. |

Michael did a WONDERFUL job! It just wouldn't have been the same or as effective with any other guide. He's very articulate and passionate about his village. I wouldn't change a thing about our tour except maybe we'd have kept him for the rest of the day! Please let him know how much we enjoyed his tour.
