Food focus

This activity is very focused on food in the neighborhood: restaurants, bakeries and stores. To learn about the literary or artistic Greenwich Village you need to take another tour. The information provided is very interesting and can be very usefull with visiting family or friends.

Everyone should take this tour. We discovered a new attraction in our own city - and have been back to the local shops and restaurants a few times already. I have recommended this tour to everyone I can think of. Fabulous!

Great Fun

I have now participated in both the Chelsea Market and the Greenwich Village tours. In the past I have found that I generally did the same things when I went to NYC (e.g., dinner, theatre, museums). These walking tours provided unique fun coupled with knowledge: history of areas and appreciation for the local cuisine (as well as great food samples). The guides have been pleasant and accomodating. I have heartily recommended these tours to many people and I look forward to enjoying additional tours. Thanks!

We enjoyed the information about the neighborhood, particularly the hidden places and "insider view" of the streets and eats. The food was good--maybe a little redundant, but tasty and plenty. It was just long enough and informative enough. I think we'll be trying Meatpacking/Chelsea next!!

The Village we never knew.

Very enjoyable! We've lived on Long Island all our lives but haven't spent much time downtown NYC. The tour guide, Maria, was very pleasant, interesting and accommodating. She was very informative about the area and architecture, although she appreciated my husband's architectural input. The food was great and gave us a real taste of the area. I would definitely recommend this tour and can't wait to sign up for another one soon. We also now know where to go when in the area for good eats.

Terrific Experience

I highly recommend this tour. I brought my father, visiting from out of town, and my boyfriend who is a native New Yorker. There were many wonderful surprises on the tour. In addition to great food (the tastings were all delicious), we were treated to hidden spots in the neighborhood that we otherwise never would have found. This should be any tourists first experience - its a great introduction to a diverse sampe of authentic New York cuisine, and the walking tour includes a discussion of the city's architecture, history and culture. I'll be bringing all of my out of town guests on these tours. (On a side note, we returned to three of the restaurants we visited in the following two days and had wonderful meals.)

A Delightful Slice of New York

Not only were the slices of pizza excellent, this tour offers a look at a part of New York that couldn't be more different than the people hurrying along densely crowded sidewalks which so typifies the financial and shopping areas of the city. Everything about this tour was excellent, from the variety of places we stopped and quality of the food to the insider's look as communicated by our local guide. Fun for all ages!

Great food, okay tour guide

The stops on the tour were great and the food was fantastic. Our tour guide, however, was not as knowledgeable about the area as was desired. She did not know how to answer a lot of the questions that were asked and was not very thorough in her descriptions. The tour was still fun and worthwhile, but it would have been more interesting if we had a better guide.
