Lots of places, but little food

The tour went to a lot of great restaurants in Greenwich Village, many of which I would have never known to visit without this tour. Our guide had a wealth of knowledge about each restaurant we stopped at, plus many of the restaurants we merely walked past and the neighborhood in general. My only complaint is that my friend and I left the tour hungry. We had planned on eating a lot on the tour since it was scheduled for 3 hours and during lunch time, but at each place we only got a bite or two to taste. I definitely do not feel like I ate anything extraordinary, so I would have least liked to have felt satisfyingly full at the end. Not sure if I would recommend this tour to friends in the future, as I don't think it was necessarily worth the ticket price.

Good Food but Tour Guide less than Great

I think that the idea of this tour is a great one. The tour guide was reasonably knowledgeable, but spoke so constantly and with so much nervous intensity, we found found it a little irritating, and left the tour early. My advice to the tour guide would be: "Relax. Say less. Try to be more informative - and try not to repeat yourself. And don't talk to the members of the tour like they are little school children, or like their diet is likely limited to Kraft Dinner and Hot Dogs. If they have chosen to do a Food Tour - chances are - they know a little bit about food. They probably also know that they should look both ways before crossing a street, and avoid getting struck by a car by not standing in the middle of the road. I am not inclined to recommend that tour to others, based on my experience.

Kurt was our tour guide and he was very impressive with his knowledge. He was fun, informative, had personality. and enthusiasm for food and NYC. I would recommend that anyone who plans on touring the NYC area to take one of these food tours.

My husband and I went on the tour as part of our one year wedding anniversary celebration, and we loved the food and the atmosphere. The tour guide, Kurt, was also very good and made the tour even more enjoyable. We highly recommend this tour.

Great intro to Greenwich Village

Although we have visited New York several times before, we had never visited Greenwich Village. Our grown-up daughter who was accompanying us found details of this tour via the intranet and we congratulated her on a great find. Our guide, Heather, was excellent and we really enjoyed her company. It is a really good idea to provide this 'taster' of what GV can provide in the way of shops and restuarants and to throw in lots of information about its history and culture meant that we could put it all into context. Sadly, we were only in New York for a long weekend so did not have time to revisit any of the restaurants to have a complete meal, but we will be back to do so, I am sure! We will also take the next opportunity to do one of the tours in another district of New York as they really do seem give great value.

A perfect combination of sightseeing, information about the local area, and great food! We were served tastings at eight different shops/restaurants which was just the right amount of food.

Loved The Greenwich Village Food Tour !

We had a great time on our Greenwich Village food tour. Our guide was a lot of fun to be with and she was very informed about the history and culture of the area. A few days after our tour we actually went back to three of the restaurants we toured and enjoyed their food again. We were first-time New York tourists and this was a great way for us to be introduced to some of the local culture and food. I highly recommend this to anyone that is looking for a fun and unique way to spend an afternoon.

This is the second food/cultural tour that I have taken with this company. It's not just the food that is amazing... I love that we get historical and trivial facts about the area that we are walking around. I've taken the Chelsea Market tour and the Greenwich Village tour and loved them both. Looking forward to attending all of their tours.

This tour was a great way to introduce yourself to the local food and history of the area. I now will be able to go back to NY and bring friends to some of these great restaurants and food shops.
