Original Greenwich Village Food and Culture Tour

My boyfriend and I went initially just to explore the different foods, but we came out ahead because along with the food came history that we may have never known if it weren't for this experience. In addition, our tour guide Cindy was amazing. Our tour lasted for three hours but we didn't realize it because she was a great entertainer. My boyfriend who is usually skeptical about everything, states " I would do it again".

A good variety of top rate food stops are part of the tour but the highlights are the steps back into history. I've wlaked the streets of Greenwich Village for years and years but learned so much and discovered so many new places that I did not know about. I was awed by some of the sites which the tour revealed. The history of the Village, the secret hiding spots, the things you would never know or see are the real gems of the tour. Of course, top rate pizza, cookies, pastries, cheese and other delicious treats make for great interludes between the culture, history and fascination which is Greenwich Village.

Cindy was enthusiastic and knowledgeable. The food was terrific and I've told many people about it already.

We were group of six and this was our first experience doing a food and culture tour and we found this was a wonderful way to learn about local history and food and also have a great time. Our guide, Cindy, was fun, full of enthusiasm and answered all kinds of intelligent and not so intelligent questions from the group. The sampling of the various foods was excellent - we were all vegetarians and they did a nice jobn of making sure we had non-meat options everywhere. We plan to take the Chelsea and Soho tours.

What a pleasant surprise. My guide Amy was very informative. I learned so much about the history of Greenwich Village and look forward to going back to many of the places we visited. So much food, I was stuffed!!!!

I was on the tour with my sister, we both really enjoyed it. I am from New Jersey and I have never been to any of these restaurants or places in the Village. Our tour guide was great, she was very friendly, and knowledgeable. We enjoyed the entire 3 hours tremendously and I intend to take other friends on the same tour in the near future.

Cindy was our guide and she was fantastic. Personality plus! She took us to some fabulous places where we tried some amazing food. She was funny and knew so much of the history of Greenwich Village. She kept us entertained, fed and provided an educational tour on the history of that part of the city. I plan on going on the other tours in the future and enthusiastically recommend this for anyone. It is alot of walking so make sure you wear comfortable shoes!

Although my husband and I have never lived more than an hour and a half from the city, it is only recently that we have started exploring "the neighborhoods". This tour was a fun way to explore Greenwich Village. Our tour guide, Cindy, was excellent. She not only fed us local fare, (as advertised), but provided fun tidbits of information on area history, architecture, real estate, etc. Can't wait to eat a full meal at some of the local eateries on a return visit soon!
