Original Greenwich Village Food and Culture Tour

Our tour guide was Michael and he was fantastic as a guide because you could tell he genuinely loved his subjects-- food and Greenwich Village -- and, now, so do we. The tastings were more than enough to fill us up for the whole afternoon and were delicious. This tour was worth the price of admission.

Kurt, our tour guide, made this a memorable time on my first trip to New York. My son, who lives in Brooklyn, came on this tour with me. He too learned something about Greenwich Village as well --- we both thought this was something every tourist to New York should do. In fact, we went to dinner at one of the restaurants a few nights later. I cannot recommend this tour highly enough --- I am certainly letting all my friends travelling to New York know about it. Once again, Kurt, was a fabulous tour guide.

This was a really great tour--the best one I've been on in many years . . . and I have done countless tours in over 55 countries. It was well-organized, varied, educational, and the food perfectly delicious!! The tour guide, Curt, was super. He was punctual, enthusiatic, fun, extremely knowledgeable, and spontaneous. We even went back to one of his restaurant recommendations that night and loved it. I would highly recommend this tour and plan on taking your Chelsea Market/Meatpacking District Tour on a future NYC visit and making many more individual visits to enjoy the wonderful "fruits" of the Greenwich Village/Chelsea neighborhoods.

For people who are not familiar with Greenwich Village, this is the perfect tour. It gives you a chance to see the local area and taste the foods that are avaliable at the local stores and restaurants. My wife and I thoroughly enjoy everything we ate. The tour guide "Susan" could not have been any better. She was very knowledgeable and had a great personality. I will recommend this tour to my friends here in New Orleans on their next trip to New York.

OUR GROUP LEADER WAS NOT ONLY HAD A VAST HISTORY OF THE GREENWICH VILLAGE AREA BUT HAD A WARM, OPEN PERSONALITY THAT LENDED A GREAT DEAL OF ENTHUSIASM FOR THE AREA TO BE ENJOYED AGAIN AND AGAIN ON SUBSEQUENT VISITS TO NEW YORK CITY. THE FOOD TASTING WAS MORE THAN AMPLE AND VARIED. I LOVED THE TOUR - THE GUIDE - EVERYTHING - EVEN ON A VERY HOT HUMID DAY.

As a native New Yorker who has not lived there for forty years, I thoroughly enjoyed this informative tour of the Village along with the samples from local restaurants. It was a great value for the money and all the food was terrific. Great idea to pass out water and a napkin. I would also give folks a packaged wet cloth for the end of the tour since by then, you are really feeling sticky. Because of this tour, I will recommend a trip to the village to my children and plan on having dinner there the next time I am in town. If you want to attract some older adults, some sitting time is recommended. I did see some park benches. Loretta Smith

What made the tour most enjoyable was the guide. He was informative, amusing and kept the group together without being obnoxious. The food selections were interesting but a little heavy on the sweets. Would have liked one additional protein food and one less sweet. Although the cookie and the cannoli were delicious.
