Original Greenwich Village Food and Culture Tour

Excellent...excellent tour! Food is delicious and tour is interesting and informative. Great idea to do the tour early on in your vacation. After the tour we went back to the featured food spots for dinner and treats during the remainder of our trip. Highly recommend it to anyone who loves food and wants to experience the hidden treasures of Greenwich Village!

Me and my mom went on this food tour on Monday 6-27-11 and had Berri as our tour guide. She was so knowledgeable of the area and the history that it made the tour so much more enjoyable. The food was fantastic and we went back to O & Co. after the tour to purchase some products. That night we went to Home and had dinner then had dessert at Cones. I wish we had taken the food tour on the first day of our trip to NY so we could of went to some of the other places but we took it on Monday and we had to leave on Tuesday. I will definintely go back and take this tour again and probably a couple of the other ones offered. If you go on this tour and you get Berri as a tour guide you will learn so much about the area and this history behind a lot. It was probably the best experience I had during our 6 day visit to NY and I highly recommend it!

Our group of four thoroughly enjoyed the Greenwich tour! We learned about the niehgborhood, history of buildings, restaurant owners and how the food is prepared. The food was fabulous, I tried things that I would never have known about! Our tour guide was knowlegeable and fun. All of us agreed that we would certainly do this activity again ! It was one of the highlights of our visit to New York.

The restaurants and markets we visited were excellent, food was great and had plenty of it. Our tour guide Carrie Ann was great, very knowledgeable and pleasant. Good balance of food and history. I am a local and can't tell you how many times I have walked these streets of the West Villiage, now I have a new appreciation for what it has to offer. From Murray's and thier cheese and olives, to Palma for that wonderful cauliflower, to those bacon wrapped dates at Centro. The lesson of "extra virgin" olive oil at O&Co was infomative and the basil oil is incredible. Faicco's arancini (rice) balls and sopressata were delicious, can't forget the amazing chocolate chip cookies at Milk & Cookies, Joes's NY pizza and of course the cannolies from Rocco's. Well worth the money, planning my next tour.

My sister, daughter,niece and I did the Greenwich Village food tour and LOVED it! It was a highlight of our trip. All of the food was delicious and the history fascinating. Bert was a wonderful tour guide. Very highly recommend!

Our children gave us this tour as an anniversary gift. We loved it. Bert our tour guide was great. Learning about the history of the area was really enjoyable & the food was delicious. I would definitely recommend to out of towers to get a taste of NYC. There was alot of information & details that we would not have seen were it not for our guide.

Thanks to Heather, our enthusiastic, friendly and highly knowledgeable tour guide, my friend and I had a great time on our "3 hour tour" of the Village! I'd really like to give kudos and express my appreciation for the "user-friendliness" of this tour company. Despite attempts to be punctual, my friend and I woke up at 12:45 (the time we were supposed to be ARRIVING to our tour) and rushed out the door in an attempt to not miss out on a great opportunity (or lose out on 100 bucks). When we called the contact number, we were not only assisted to a meeting place but graciously at that! A gentleman associated with the tour met us exactly where he had directed us and very kindly (and patiently) showed us to where we could meet up with the rest of our group. This was a wonderful situation opposite of the "sorry, you missed it" situation I had expected. Thanks Foods of New York, I'll be back!

Bert was our guide, and we thought he did an outstanding job as our tour host. We enjoyed all of the trivia about Greenwich Village and New York and thought that the food was great. Many of the ladies in our group are "seasoned" cooks and each of them learned something on the tour (about olive oils, recipes, etc.). Several of our group members have already talked about going on the tour again with other friends. Bravo and thanks for such a fun time!

As first time visitors to NYC, the food tour was recommended by friends. We chose the tour of Greenwich Village. Word of warning: DON'T EAT BEFORE YOU GO! They food stops were plentiful and everything we tasted was great. Cindy provided little stories about the shop owners and tons of history on the tour.
